Once you've finished your run (win or lose), you return to your village where you rebuild each building by achieving certain things during your travels, with extra balls/relics/runes and eventually alt-floors being unlocked as you go.

After each battle you can choose a free relic (works as you expect for a roguelite) & can then spend your gold on buying new balls, upgrading what you've got, or having a drink (healing).

Choose a relic! 2 dangling dwarves congratulate you

Ball seller: "yeah i have some balls in me sack here. just dont ask me where I can em from..."

Upgrade balls: "Hey there! I can make your balls stronger for a price. Just place them on me anvil here and ill start whacking"

Then you go to the top down view and fire your charged ball right at the enemies! Well, you do for some balls. Some carry out AoE damage, or charm, or taunt, or a heal-there are currently over 50 different balls you can have in your bag(deck) with 100+ effects to enchant them with. Tactics & chaos!

To fight enemies in DWARRF, you use a two phase system. Firstly, you charge up your ball using the pinball/pachinko board. Hitting pegs increases the damage you'll do. Hitting ORE will increase your frenzy meter, which when at 100% causes you to go into "MINING FRENZY" increasing your damage done.

Each run begins with you traversing a procedurally generated map, in 3D, coming across encounters such battles/bosses/random events/shops/chests. All this in your 'pirate ship' which is just a mine cart with a cannon attached.

A negative review on steam from a mysterious russian player with no name. The review is super in depth and constructive given that they've typed nothing at all!

(Tbf i rather they play the demo and then leave the game alone for full release)

Without giving too much away, this picture is set underground (tolkein-ish) contains a dwarf with a slain troll in the background. the player is stood within a modified minecart set on wooden tracks.

Airlocks for the 0.6 update for Life Not Supported are really coming along, having areas you can breath in without using up your oxygen supply feels real good. It gives a greater impression of inside and outside.

ModNation Racers without a shadow of a doubt. This was a peak game part of Sony’s ‘Play, Create, Share’ that I was obsessed with as a kid. I mean giving kids access to making their own race tracks, karts, and avatars was always going to be a winning formula.
