Well, what I always say, "I just want everybody to be treated good." I try not to get into the politics of everything. I try to get into the human element of it. I have some of everybody in my own immediate family and in my circle of employees. I've got transgender people. I've got gays. I've got lesbians. I've got drunks. I've got drug addicts — all within my own family. I know and love them all, and I do not judge.

And I just see how broken-hearted they get over certain things and I know how real they are. I know how important this is to them. That's who they are. They cannot help that any more than I can help being Dolly Parton, you know, the way people know me. If there's something to be judged, that is God's business. But we are all God's children and how we are is who we are.

package and out lept a paper crab (crabbus canapaperus) that was
accidentally included with the merchandise. The crab then proceeded
to maul a G'raha Tia plushie for 9 minutes and 48 seconds before the
customer was able to subdue the animal.

G'raha Tia was flown (upon the eternal wind) to John Hopkins Hospital
where he remains in critical condition. Our thoughts are with his family.

So of course someone with that much insecurity would want to turn to AI. They don't have to second guess their judgement when the AI tells them they're right the first time and feeds into that misguided confidence. Of course, this doesn't apply to everyone. Plenty of good business people know that success is a result of giving the people who work the support to do their best rather than fixation on the bottom line. But that mentality requires a level of confidence in one's self and trust in others.

From what I was told about business school in Uni, no one really did anything that sounded fulfilling or eye opening. Whenever they listened to me or friends talk about the cool art and scientific things we were doing, they'd get kinda uncomfortable, like they weren't equipped to engage with it.

This is unfortunate news for those who still prefer buying games on physical media, and is certainly a hit to consumer rights, the resale market, and game creators whose businesses rely on the physical market. But from the perspective of professional preservationists, this doesn't have as much of an impact as you might expect.

The reality is that the vast majority of video games produced over the last two decades were not made for dedicated home video game consoles, let alone pressed to physical media. And even when they were released on physical media, a day-one digital patch was all but guaranteed, meaning that even though a disc is preserving data in an accessible way, it may not represent the game that people actually played. Museums and archives have been preparing for this future for a while, with the expectation that putting discs on a shelf isn't going to be a long-term solution for preserving new games.

What continues to baffle us is what the industry expects institutions like ours to do about it. If platform owners are deciding to eliminate physical media and older digital storefronts, then we'd also like to see trade groups like the Entertainment Software Association offer meaningful solutions for archives and museums to legally preserve digital-only content and make it accessible for research. Everyone agrees this is a serious problem, but the ESA has repeatedly opposed the efforts of cultural heritage institutions to reform digital copy protection laws to make it easier to do this work. The industry needs to meaningfully come to the table on this issue, because asking museums to download a copy of Grand Theft Auto VI and hope it'll run in 50 years is not a preservation solution.
