Our sister union in the Philippines is called COURAGE, and CUPE Sask has been a partner for many years. We were honoured to host their president, Santiago. We visited members in Regina, Weyburn, and Saskatoon from healthcare, universities, libraries, education, & municipalities.

We joined the parade to celebrate the Town of Nipawin’s 100th birthday on the weekend. CUPE has hundreds of members that live in and around Nipawin — and many came out to volunteer! Our prize wheel raised over $370 for the Nipawin Early Learning Centre.

While bargaining was taking place inside, we were outside calling on Scott Moe and his bargaining agent to get a fair deal done now. Healthcare workers have gone over 3 years without a raise during a cost of living crisis. The result has been a staffing and retention emergency.
