They are a challenge but dk is a nice weight to try in, works up fairly quickly but not too thick when finished.

Jumper's worth of dk, a skein of mohair to hold with something which seems to be the fashion, some sparkly sequins to hold with the jumper, earrings and buttons! A very good haul and a brilliant time with my friend.

Very fun! A lovely big jumper but I haven't picked a pattern yet, just got enough dk for something nice. And some mohair with teeny tiny sequins. And something called Unicorn Tears with massive sequins. And a kimono. And some earrings.

The national one for unis has been confirmed by the employers today though I think it's only up to certain grades. It is emphatically not in line with inflation and I don't the unions actually agreed it.

I have identified one yamaha as being very good for beginners but it's a bit out of the price range - perhaps doable though. The piano teacher has a clavinova but I think that range starts at 1,000s!

Thank you so much, I'll have a look at it all. We're nowhere near grade 1 never mind 5, so I think something entry level we can upgrade if needed might be the way then. I think the keys at once thing is what they're calling polyphany in the ads? Might be to ask the piano teacher how important it is!

I would appreciate it! I think it's weighted graded hammer action?! But as a musical dunce I'm pretty much going on vibes here. And of course the cheap ones are £150 and the expensive ones are £20,000 so there's quite the margin of error there
