we are seeing the limits of 'tolerance' as an ideology. dems have always 'tolerated' gays and trans ppl, told others to 'tolerate' us. but it's never been 'solidarity', ever! only socialists and communists have ever had true solidarity with marginalized groups. 'tolerance' is clearly not enough.
