My political claim to fame is sharing a platform with Roy Hattersley when shadow chancellor, (he spoke at Bristol Poly when I was Labour club secretary). Any politician with a true love of cricket and football is all right in my book. His book ‘Choose Freedom’ remains relevant. A life lived well.
