Also check out this 1898 copy of l'officine or 'repertoire general de pharmacie pratique" which roughly translates to "general annex of practical pharmaceutic practices" Could use some careful cleaning & some maintenance work, might take it to an antiquary for restoration & then keep it for myself

The Work of Art
in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction

WALTER BENJAMIN

“Our fine arts were developed, their types and uses were established, in times
very different from the present, by men whose power of action upon things was
insignificant in comparison with ours. But the amazing growth of our
techniques, the adaptability and precision they have attained, the ideas and
habits they are creating, make it a certainty that profound changes are
impending in the ancient craft of the Beautiful. In all the arts there is a
physical component which can no longer be considered or treated as it used to
be, which cannot remain unaffected by our modern knowledge and power. For
the last twenty years neither matter nor space nor time has been what it was
from time immemorial. We must expect great innovations to transform the
entire technique of the arts, thereby affecting artistic invention itself and
perhaps even bringing about an amazing change in our very notion of art.”*

Law enforcement learned about Anderegg’s activity through a “CyberTip” to NCMEC from Meta, which owns Instagram, after he allegedly sent images via direct message. Anderegg made images using an AI model released by Stable Diffusion, an open source developer.

A spokesperson for Stability AI, which develops the software, said in a statement that the company “is committed to preventing the misuse of AI technology, particularly in the creation and dissemination of harmful content, including CSAM.”

I find this sweet the whole segment on bleed too putting it there, just so it can be an idea that players may start considering with no obligation, just a seed you can grow
Excerpt from Vampire: The Masquerade V5 Blood-Stained Love

It reads:

IN PORNOGRAPHIC DETAIL

You can play Vampire in many different contexts,
including for the purposes of sexual titillation.
One way to do this is to play the game with your sex partner on a one-on-one basis (or with more consent, informed sex partners), using the sexual exploits of your characters as a form of foreplay.

It's a fear of losing it all, followed by the belief nothing can be rebuilt or it's too scary to fail to bring something about, where the responsibility will be on you. It is a scary thing. So forever compromising on the given terms of the landlord whose marchland is sinking is always favoured

taking this idea to its extreme we end up with the sonderkommando uprising where self-interested passivity by multiple parties, whether allied military forces or resistance groups within the camp itself, left those on the chopping block to try & do by themselves
Excerpt from 'Blessed is the Flame' about the sonderkommando uprising

the text is too large to fit in full in the alt text form

Key elements from the text:

"Throughout the entirety of their existence, both the ZOW and the Fighting Group Auschwitz had been patiently planning for a militarily-supported overthrow of the camp. Neither the AK, the British, the French, the Soviets, nor the partisans were ever able and/or willing to lend such support, and the overthrow never took place. In spite of this, Auschwitz did see one major revolt. It emerged not from within the resistance movement but from the Sonderkommando, a special detail of mostly Jewish inmates who were tasked with running the crematories and gas chambers."

" Nevertheless, in 1944 some members of the Sonderkommando (which now numbered almost one thousand workers) were spurred to action by the onslaught of Hungarian Jews that were pouring into the gas chambers faster than the infrastructure could handle.[173] This obscene intensification of the killing operation, combined with the suspicion that the extermination of the Hungarian Jews would surely be followed by the liquidation of the Sonderkommando, caused some of the workers to approach the Fighting Group and craft a plan for revolt.[174] The response of the organization was one of reluctance — they felt that the “time was not ripe for a general uprising.”[175] For the Sonderkommando, who expected their imminent slaughter, such strategic tact was out of the question. A document unearthed from Auschwitz in 1962 that had been buried by a member of the Sonderkommando, Salmen Lewenthal, chronicles the delays and tensions that existed between them and the Fighting Group:

From the organization’s standpoint they were right, especially because they did not feel they were in immediate danger of being exterminated... we concluded that if we wanted to accomplish anything in life, we would have to act sooner... but unfortunately they kept putting us off.[176]"

So the outcome of the crisis is always : the one company, the corrupt person atomised to the singular, stripped of context & designated as 'the culprit' that 'did a crime' where its punishment is a system getting rid of bugs rather than all of those parts being a singular system upholding itself.

people, out of insecurity and so they can keep pretending to possess 'natural taste', are now positing critique is of the same nature as worthless opinioning, that the truth building work of analysis is in fact no greater than their inoffensive, boring subjectivity it's so fucking cringe bro

Yeah it's definitely the best naturalistic landscaping I've seen done in video games since dragon's dogma in 2013 (and since DD2 came out 2 years later, & DD is trying more true-to-life environments than ER) also amazed it runs well on this old PC despite all the volumetric effects it throws at you

As much as I love ER even it cheats a ton with fog and only on very specific landscape do you get proper lighting on LODs, especially when in some cases light is bounced properly & some others not at all

Salmon Fish @salmonfish.bsky.social · 28/07/2026
it's very intriguing & the lighting done works very well here especially on the far dunes here, rarely see anything rendered properly like that, landscape shadowing is usually left extremely flat if it's not paired meteorological effects
