Yesterday, Hounslow Council passed our Climate Change Resilience Plan to prepare the borough for floods and extreme heat. We are doing our bit to tackle #climatechange and go #netzero by 2030. But we are only one small cog. And we must prepare our borough for all eventualities.

With the government, GLA and Axis, we've installed solar panels and LED lights in four Hounslow primary schools, saving them £100,000, and 84 tonnes of carbon, per year. With oil prices spiking after Trump's war on Iran, every extra penny schools save is a penny they can spend on educating our kids.

I was looking forward to welcoming Lidl’s arrival in Isleworth, but I can no longer do so with any great cheer. I’ve looked into the Middle of Lidl and what I’ve seen is the shoddy treatment of workers who have served our community for many years. Lidl's products may be cheap, but so is their talk.
