A tonic to all the world crazy. Here's a stunning tulip that looks like velvet. How good is Mother Nature. 💪 #Bloomscrolling #Flowers #Gardening #Nature #AusPol #AusSky #Australia #Spring

Close-up colour photo of a deep purple, almost black, tulip in full bloom. Lit by afternoon sun, it stands prominently on a slender green stem amidst blade-like green leaves. The background is a soft blur of other colorful tulips in shades of red and yellow.

Arrival day weather in Christchurch last week. Lovely. Unfortunately, not all days were as glorious & I was glad to have packed warm layers & thick puffer jacket. Of course, it was similar weather on departure day. #SilentSunday #Christchurch #Trees #Nature #Seasons #Weather #Photography #AusSky

Colour photo of a magnificent, historic weeping tree standing beautifully silhouetted against the bright afternoon sun. In the foreground, the tree is casting a long shadow on a lush, manicured lawn. Cascading bare branches highlight the structure of the tree.

Checking out what I was doing at the clothes line.... Not sure what the collective noun is for galahs. #Canberra #Birds #Nature #Trees

Pottering in the garden today, dear Nancy. The hyacinth are on the way - looking forward to the colour reveal 😁. How exciting to have your home in order - must get onto that here at some point. Enjoy your family time.

Another from yesterday's stop at the yacht club. Calm, quiet, lovely. #Canberra #Lake #Nature #Reflection #AusSky #Australia

Serene water mirrors a soft sunset sky filled with scattered clouds. On the left shore, a small dock features a white ramp leading out to a blue boat moored in the water.
A dense cluster of tall green trees stands on the opposite bank to the right, creating a clear reflection on the calm surface.

Something to cleanse the soul after today's #NPC - photos from last week's visit to National Gallery of Australia's sculpture garden. On a picture perfect, bright & sunny winter's day, the light &sculptures were magnificent. #Canberra #Australia #Art #Sculpture #Nature #AusSky #AusPol #Photography

Colour photo of "Within without" (2010), a large-scale immersive "skyspace" installation by American artist James Turrell. The central structure is a large, dark basalt stone stupa that sits within a square pool of water, accessed by a sloping concrete walkway. Inside the stupa, visitors encounter a stark white circular viewing chamber where Turrell's work redefines the perception of the sky through light, color, and stillness.

Colour photo showcasing one of a series of monumental, polished stainless steel cones that appear to float or dance across a dirt pathway in an outdoor setting. This large-scale public sculpture, titled Cones, was created by the prominent Australian artist Bert Flugelman in 1982. The mirror-like surface is reflecting the surrounding native trees and changing sky.

Colour photo showing a life-size iron maquette of the Angel of the North sculpture by Antony Gormley, standing on a concrete plinth. This 1996 version of the artwork is situated along the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, with the National Carillon visible in the background across the water on the left. The scene is captured on a bright, clear day, casting long shadows across the paved walkway and highlighting the sculpture's distinctive rusted texture.

Colour photo features the sculpture "Diamonds" by New Zealand artist Neil Dawson, suspended high above the ground by nearly invisible cables. The 4.5-meter sphere is constructed from aluminium extrusion and mesh, featuring geometric patterns painted with synthetic polymer automotive paints. The installation creates an illusion of a floating globe against the clear blue sky and surrounding gum trees.

Colour photo looking up a wide footpath next to the lake on the left. In the distance is Black Mountain and Telstra tower. Both are reflected on the still water. There is a clear, bright, sunny sky.
