N.B. Oh, and these stores basically saved next to nothing income-wise by not hiring employees. It wasn't really about the stores themselves though, they served as a beta test to license the tech to store chains, which is at the core of the AI frenzy: remove humans from jobs en masse.

Remember those Amazon brick & mortar, cashier-less stores where you could just walk out, AI cameras would tally up your order and credit your account? That was largely fake. Most cams were just CCTV, & the feeds were seen in India by a staff of 1k, who basically guessed what was being bought 1/2

Don't know about you, but I would rather watch a 3 hour video narrated by someone with a monotone voice than a 10 minute video with an "upspeak" vocal inflection, where everything they say sounds like a question.

For real though, it's a pretty damn good function. You don't have to put a separate baking tray in there and fill it with water to make steam, and the fan in the oven circulates it around evenly. No heat dead spots, just great crusts.

Where am I in life right now? Well, thank you for asking; yesterday I got really excited about using the steam bake function on our oven for the first time when making bread. So yeah, things are pretty wild.
