I roasted a chicken. I ate some as I pulled it apart. I have like six cups of chicken and I’ll be gone for four days in three days. *looks around* So, uh, casserole? Probably would freeze well. Any suggestions? What do you do with leftover chicken?

Haven't felt good all day. Started with acid reflux a couple of times overnight. My stomach feels iffy. However, the only time I don't feel awful is when I'm eating. What's up with that? I don't have a fever, which is good, but I feel that kind of drained blah that I usually associate with a fever.

11.5 hour day today, except I took a long lunch and a short nap so it’s closer to 9.5 actual working. Still, too long at work. I remembered garbage night when I finally got home. I tied a garbage bag to the front door this morning so I couldn’t forget tonight.

I’m at the stage of a cold where I can smell the inside of my head. It’s not the best. From how a friend responded last week when I mentioned it, not everyone has experienced this? I’ll go brush my teeth. Hopefully the mintiness will mask it until I fall asleep and tomorrow I’ll be healed!

Showed up to a 1:30 meeting at 12:55, so I decided to go to work and get my staff newsletter out before instead of afterwards. Hahaha *sigh* What day is it? Trying to decide if I should wear a mask. Still coughing, but it's been 9 days since I got sick. I don't think I'm infectious. Just annoying.

This book I’m reading, I wonder if it was dictated. There are a few words that sound right but are very wrong. Just now ruff instead of rough. Also a repeated incorrect use of suspicion instead of suspect (v.). Maybe a “replace all” error? Authors, please, reread your manuscript before publishing.

I woke up at 8:35 this morning. I had no reason to be awake so I closed my eyes for a little bit and woke up a little after noon. Oops. My lungs aren’t happy. I was hoping the extra sleep would help with the healing. Instead I’m feeling useless. I should go do stuff. But breathing.

I don’t like group work. I had a plan. The group had a different plan. Okay, fine, cool. Then that plan didn’t work out so I’m like, that’s fine, I already have a plan. Then I get a flurry of uninformative emails about a new plan. Which has some potential problems I know from making my plan.

I completely forgot I had my quilting class yesterday. Apparently everyone else did, too. I had two people come in and one call to say she couldn’t make it. Usually I have seven. But I got my quilt block done!

Quilt block in bluish green and darker blues with butterflies and flowers.

The quilt block pattern was called Best Friends, but I get a whole bunch of different patterns when I search that. It’s a variation on Bear’s Paw, but once again my fabrics make it difficult to see the pattern clearly.

Minor miracle. I came home a good 9 1/2 hours after last emptying the dehumidifier and it’s still running! The cooler air finally seems to be drying things out. It’s been every 6-8 hours I’ve been emptying it all summer.

After running into an older guy from a previous church, I want to start a cooking class called Single Servings for abruptly single people. We’ll cook stuff and share amongst class members so we all have something to eat without any of us having too much to eat. Part home ec, part grief support.

Saw a little snapping turtle pressed up against the glass next to our front doors when I got the book drop this morning. Almost two inches long. When I looked again, it had wandered in front of the left-hand door, so I grabbed some cardboard and moved it into the grass before it got squished.

I’m just realizing I didn’t eat today. I had breakfast, but lunch was a handful of pretzels with mustard and supper didn’t happen. Oh, I lie. I also had a little bag of chips mid-afternoon. Now I’m trying to decide if I eat or just go to bed and try again tomorrow.

I can no longer say I've never done macramé. The instructions on tying that one particular knot, however, sucked. It's literally just tie a knot, but the instructions are confusing. Make a loop, stick the same end through. Done.

My talk went well this afternoon. I got laughs where there were supposed to be laughs, which I always appreciate. No one fell asleep. Complimented by people. I’m bad at accepting compliments. I mean, I was taught to smile and say thank you. But no one taught me to believe them.

Two! phone calls. Finally. Ordered propane while it’s cheaper and scheduled the guy to come check my furnace and heat pump before winter so I don’t die from carbon monoxide or freeze to death. I was supposed to have him out in the spring, but that didna happen because I kept forgetting to call.
