He entered the room upon Davies response. As always Jack was in full battle rattle, but in his hands he seemed to have a small yellow colored box, of which he would put on the man's desk. "You do a lot fer us, even if it don't seem like we notice, we do." Gesturing to the box, he gives a nod. -

Of course. Put a round through a chieftain or two for him while she's out there.

In [that] case. Mission board's got no shortage of targets, it's a shooter's choice at this point. If she wants some backup? Give 'em a call, it's been awhile since he was out in the field.

He was under that impression. It is the room specifically made for that, after all..... Unless someone was dumb enough to piss off ONI's grim reaper.

It had been months since Spartan-316 had been last recorded fighting the Banished on Zeta. Assumed lost with the staggering amount of other personnel that had also been killed or taken in the Banished attack...... things would get interesting.... As his transponder just activated.

"War doesn't leave much room for emotion, nor the unprepared." Giving a nod, he lay's the stack of papers onto the poor logistical officers desk, in between them was a small metal flask emblazoned with the UNSC eagle, beneath were the words. "Everyone has a part to play, all important." -

I understand your doing your job mister Davies, but let me put it to you like this. Which is more cost efficient, giving a Spartan II the equipment they need to do their duty, that being several surplus tactical storage pouches. Or the costs of covering the final rites and lost equipment of UNSC -

Plasma burns away cloth. Five pouches.

I always try to pack extra. Ammo, biofoam, grenades, MREs, been stuck behind enemy lines too many times not to.

You would not believe how many of these I go through. Plasma weapons burn 'em off.

Ten requisition forms to fill out. Two for munitions. Two for plate replacements. One for shield components. And.....five for UNSC issue canvas pouches.

He feigns offense, putting his free hand to his chestplate, then softly chuckles while shaking his head. "Ouch." He gave her hand another sift squeeze. "I'll get y'sorted out, miss hyperlethal." He playfully bumped into her side as they drew close to the ships messhall.

A smile tugs at his concealed lips, he returns the gesture in kind. "Maybe so, I'm sure th' cook will get y'sorted. Though he may take a lil' convincin'....." He trailed off and rubbed his thumb against her hand. He just so happened to be on mess detail today, likely why they ran into each other.

This earns a slight raise of his eyebrow beneath his helmet, but he nods. "Sure.....in the mood for anythin' in particular?" He asked, releasing his grip on her waist to instead simply hold her hand as they made their way to the mess hall.

Both his purpose and a means to an end. From his childhood to every waking moment since, he was molded, shaped, and trained to be a defender of humanity. And oftentimes to save lives, one must take them.

He nods, wrapping his hand around her waist, gently holding her close. "Need t'talk about it?"

Tiling his, as always, helmeted face. He looks down and gives her arm another rub. "Rough morning?"

Do they really not understand that we have spent pretty much most of our waking lives fighting or training to fight? We didn't exactly get time for much else, learning or otherwise.
