I'm participating in my first ever raid train this Sunday! I intend to put my best foot forward, and focus on electric guitar (both rhythm and lead) in a recording and performance context. I'll be composing some material tomorrow specifically for this event!

Today I finished the bones for the five tracks on Pepperoni Joe in ASCII Land! Now I can begin my second pass of all the tracks, where I go on a maximalist composition rampage. I'm particularly excited about the last song, which clocks in at 14:40 long! Progressive rock roots never die.

Today I celebrate the start of my 38th revolution around the sun! 37 was a good year for me, and I hope 38 is even better! Everyone can look forward to more music output from me, both Saint Coelacanth and singer-songwriter! I'm definitely a late bloomer.

It took a shock to my system to clear it out, but in the process I learned what ADHD emotional dysregulation is. I don't know how long I've been numb for, but I truly feel again for the first time in a very long time! Now I need to educate and better myself so it doesn't happen to me again.

Hey guy, I'm unsure when I'll be streaming next. My schizoaffective disorder is flaring up, so I'm going through a really bad mental health period right now. I miss streaming a lot, and I miss making music, but I need this emotional storm to pass first. I'll be back when I feel like myself again.

Last year during GMTK 2025, I managed to sneak within the Top 500 for audio. It was a big mark of pride for me, and helped to foster the confidence I needed to continue working in the soundtrack space. Sadly, the same can't be said for GMTK 2026; I scored over 10x worse. My confidence is shattered.

My friend SirLegna and I participated in the GMTK 2026 Game Jam! We made Numerous, a puzzle game where you have to balance timers falling at different rates. I made the soundtrack, and photobashed some visuals for it! If you do check it out, please leave a rating, it helps a bunch!

I've been hard at work the past month on my next album, Rude Otters! On this album I explore a lot of duelling guitar rhythms, punctuated by my maximalist composition style. I'm very proud of this album, and I hope my listeners enjoy it! Here is a teaser! youtu.be/dqgNLavtdj4

I'm currently rendering and exporting stems for Rude Otters! If I keep pace, I should be in the thick of mixing this album tomorrow afternoon or evening. Wish me luck!

It's been a month now since Calcium & Turtlenecks was released! By my standards, this has performed incredibly well! This was a challenging album to create, and was overly ambitious in a lot of ways. I'm glad however that I've created something that listeners seem to legitimately enjoy!

Work on my next album, Rude Otters, has been progressing steadily! I have one more song to compose for, and then I can begin mixing the album. Today I photobashed some album art together for it! This is a small section of the full album art, to serve as a little teaser of what is to come:

I'm very excited to announce that I have been accepted into the Twitch Music Creator's Club! This is very surreal news to me!

Saint Coelacanth @saintcoelacanth.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

My latest album, Calcium & Turtlenecks, is at over 200 streams on Spotify! This is incredible news for me, as I'm an unknown artist with minimal social media presence and laughable self-promotion skills.

010

Saint Coelacanth @saintcoelacanth.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

2/2 I'll likely always be an eccentric, obscure and niche creator because of my love of auditory maximalism, but other people liking my music is a bonus!

010

Saint Coelacanth @saintcoelacanth.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

1/2 I focus on composing music that I've always wanted to hear myself. I adore blending multiple different rhythms together at the same time, and creating a melodic assault on the senses (minimalism is a concept I only employ when asked to for commissions or soundtrack work).

020

Saint Coelacanth @saintcoelacanth.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

It's been quite awhile since I've released a proper Saint Coelacanth album! This one was quite ambitious, so it took awhile to get it out the door.

The second song from Gluten-Free Gnosticism! This song is in Open D, and was challenging to compose for because of this. The guitar solo was particularly tricky, as there were plenty of close, but not quite moments while recording takes.

I've been re-imagining my Thrift Store Superhero story as a tactical RPG, and making music for it with this mindset. I'm having way more fun with it than I should be! I thought this story was lost to me. I'm essentially writing a soundtrack for a game that will never exist, but fun is fun.
