This lady’s brother-in-law stole $3.5k to spend on porn and her worthless husband can only shrug. I don’t think there’s any life left in this marriage.
Dear Pay Dirt,

My husband, "Mike," and I let his brother, "Dan," move in with us after Dan's divorce wiped him out. Seven months have gone by and it's not working out, to put it mildly.

He has been drinking more and more, doesn't pay rent, got fired from his job back in May when he failed to show up for work for the eighth time because he was too shitfaced to get up, and thinks it's hilarious to teach our toddler profane language. But the final straw came last week when I opened my credit card statement and discovered over $3,500 in charges for adult entertainment!
Dan initially denied it when I confronted him before finally fessing up after I threatened to kick him out.

When I told Mike about what his brother had done, he agreed that it was wrong, but that "Dan doesn't have much to look forward to right now" and thus we should let it go this one time. If my sleazebag brother-in-law is allowed to get away with what he did, I am convinced he will do worse. Would I be within my rights to tell Mike either Dan goes or I'm taking our son and staying with my sister until he's gone?

—Brother-in-Law BattleDear Battle,

Your brother-in-law is disrupting your day-to-day life, your finances, your parenting, and now, your marriage. So yeah, I see why you'd want to issue that ultimatum. But I'd think of it less as a threat and more as a necessary boundary.

I get that your husband wants to be compassionate toward his brother, but at some point, he's just enabling him. And by asking you to let it go, Mike is sending a message that Dan's behavior has no consequences and that his comfort is more important than your peace of mind and the comfort and well-being of your family.

But before you pack your bags, try having a final conversation about this with your husband. Avoid making the conversation about Dan's character or how much of a hard time he's going through.

Instead, focus on how Dan's behavior is affecting your family: the $3,500 bill, the influence on your toddler, the fighting. Then let your husband know that you don't feel like you trust him to protect your shared interests and your child.

If he still prioritizes his adult brother's comfort over his family, then your ultimatum makes sense. You shouldn't have to sacrifice your sanity—or your finances-because your husband won't confront his brother.

That “maybe less hay next time” in reference to decorations for a WEDDING is some load-bearing shade. No wonder the sister/bride is pissed off.
AITA for telling my sister her wedding decor was too themed?

My sister just got married last weekend. She planned everything herself and was super excited about her 'rustic farm' theme. I went to the venue and it was a LOT. Hay bales everywhere fake sunflowers hanging from every beam. Even the food was all barn-themed which was a bit much for a formal wedding dinner.

During the reception she asked me what I thought and I was honest. I said it was 'a bit over the top' and that 'maybe less hay next time'. She got really upset and said I was being unsupportive and tried to ruin her day. My other sister thinks I was just being honest but my mom is on her side saying I should have just kept my mouth shut. Was I the asshole for giving my honest opinion?

How do we explain to women that, my god, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS NONSENSE, NO DICK IS THAT GOOD
My (F27) bf (M33) still doesn't know how to spell or pronounce my last name after 6 years together.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years now. I found out the beginning of this year that he actually doesnt know how to spell or even pronounce my 5 letter last name.

Every flowers or packages that he sends either doesnt include my last name or it's spelled wrong. I've been reminding since. It's been 8 months and he still doesnt get it. He tries to make excuses when I correct him and he acts like it’s not a big deal since "im getting his last name" anyway.

I dont want to over react, but is this worth a breakup? It feels like there is no effort on his part to even remember something so basic about me.

A desktop wallpaper of the 4 Outer Senshi from Sailor Moon. Drawn by Naoko Takeuchi, the four women are wearing haute couture outfits and posing like professional models. I added a vaporwave-inspired aesthetic to the artwork, with a neon pink and purple gradient colour scheme and some bright geometric waves swooping behind and overlapping the characters.

In conclusion, taking HD screenshots of a Toei-animated series from 1992-1997 is a land of contrasts.
An in-between frame of Sailor Jupiter's "Sparkling Wide Pressure" sequence, in which her face is drawn in scant detail (her eyes appear squinted and out of focus) and her fingers look goofy.A key frame from the same animated sequence, which actually looks really cool as Jupiter is about to hurl her electrified disc, with dangerously narrowed eyes.

I hate it when record companies mislabel things. This isn’t a remaster, it’s a re-recording with a different lead singer. It’s actually not bad as far as re-recordings go (at least compared to the K-Tel garbage) but it’s still pretty damn deceptive. Oh, and I can’t report mislabeled tracks anymore!

Sailor Uranus's clit is actually a dick, she is a Futanari, a Dickgirl, both make and female reproductive orgasms, her testicles are inside of her body instead of the outside.
This is also gender inclusive (not being Woke). But you see, most of the Sailor Scouts (Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury) are heterosexual women. Neptune is basically a lesbian. Pluto seems to be Asexual/non-sexual. Saturn is apparently Pansexual or Bisexual. and Mini Moon is a Queer Little girl who is in love with her father and a shapeshifting Horse God. So Uranus being a naturally born Trans/Futa actually makes sense from an Inclusivity perspective.

I’d just return the damn earrings, but I’m in agreement with Prudence re: the “dump his ass” advice. He’s doing the “I spent a lot of money on your gift, how dare you be so ungrateful as to have a medical condition I somehow never noticed” thing.
Dear Prudence,
My boyfriend "Jake" got me a really nice pair of ruby earrings for my birthday three weeks ago. They are beyond gorgeous, but there's one problem-my ears aren't pierced, and Jake wants me to have my ears pierced so I can wear them. The trouble is, I have a tendency toward developing keloid scars. Piercings can trigger them, and the last thing I need are keloided-up earlobes. I've offered to have the earrings made into a necklace (which I like the idea of better anyway), but
Jake is acting all offended and it's becoming a sore point. What can I do?
—Exorcised Over EarringsDear Exorcised,
Assuming you told Jake about the keloid situation and he continued to push his piercing agenda, here's what you can do: sell the earrings and use the proceeds to buy a new outfit for the first date you go on after the two of you break up. Because the way he's behaving is ridiculous and shows a total lack of care for you. If you haven't explained why you're hesitant, well, I'm sorry to say I still don't like him at all. Health condition or not, gifting earrings to a person who doesn't want to poke holes in her earlobes, pushing her to do so, and then sulking over the proposal of a perfectly nice compromise is jerk behavior. Maybe try to play a mental trick on yourself: Pretend like you develop keloids every time someone disrespects you or disregards your wellbeing. That should give you the motivation to leave him.

“My wife is hot. UNBELIEVABLY sexy. You must understand how incredibly fuckable she is. My sister is jealous of my boneriffic wife and doesn’t want her at her upcoming wedding. Oh, and by the way, Sex Bomb Wife and Sister’s Fiance used to date, but that’s probably unrelated.”
Dear Prudence,
My wife is smoking. She is the most gorgeous woman ever. She acts as if it's not that bad; it's so bad that strangers STOP on the street to look at her. I'm not joking. This devilishly smoking woman looks like a mix of Adriana Lima, Anok Yai, and Sofia Vergara-being half Brazilian and half Eritrean.
My sister is getting married. She and I are basically look-alikes, meaning she's a pretty average-looking white woman, and I'm an average-looking white man.
She wants to invite my wife and me, but she is scared about attention being naturally drawn to my (her words, not mine) "exotic wifey." To which I said, she's not exotic; she's just like her and me, human. She scoffed and said I am invited, but not my wife.To be fair, my wife is naturally flirty-with everyone, though, from seniors to friends. So I understand why my sister could feel a little threatened, knowing that the groom-to-be and my wife used to date for a year or two in college, long, long ago. My wife knows about this and is fine with not going and staying home. But I do not want to put down my wife because of my sister's insecurities. If her husband-to-be truly loves her, he wouldn't feel anything for my wife on their wedding day. So should I take my wife to the wedding?
Or put my pride aside and leave her at home?
-Average HusbandDear Average Husband,
What a turn this took! Why did I hear about your wife's genetic admixture before I heard about the fact that she used to date the groom? It sounds like you and your sister are equally guilty of exoticising her and creating an overblown story about her power to derail a wedding day with her appearance and flirty glances.
I'd even go as far as to suggest that the whole "her parents are from these two different countries, so she's so breathtakingly gorgeous and such a celebrity lookalike that nobody who's near her can pay attention to anyone else" narrative gives you a thrill. I guess if that dynamic works in your marriage, that's your business. The more disturbing part is that your sister is, as you suggest, dehumanizing her with the "exotic wifey" label, which is pretty racist.
Plus, it's a distraction from the real reason she doesn't want your wife there: the previous relationship your wife had with the groom. It's a simple case of jealousy.
Your wife doesn't care, thankfully. I'm happy she isn't relying on your family for acceptance or validation. So let her stay home. And, by the way, resist telling your sister that she looks beautiful in her dress "for an average white person."

Ma’am, what do you mean when you describe Giselle as “awkward?” Does she say inappropriate things? Is she very shy? Perhaps she’s autistic. Or maybe doesn’t share the same interests as her peers. “Awkward” is a *very* loaded word. My ableism alarms are ringing.
Dear Care and Feeding,

My daughter, "Samantha," started third grade earlier this month, and her teacher has instituted something that I think is unfair. "Miss Dumbass)" has assigned the kids to sit at tables in groups of six, which I have no problem with. What I do have a problem with is that she has assigned each kid a "friend" whom they are required to play with during the morning recess. Doing so results in "friendship points," which they can trade in for candy or small toys at the end of the month. Even worse is that Miss D has said that if the kids socialize together outside of school, they get triple the points.
Samantha has been assigned to be "friends" with
"Giselle," whom she cannot stand. I've met this kid and see her point: She is very awkward, and none of my daughter's friends like her.

My husband says Samantha needs to learn how to deal with difficult people because she's going to encounter them in life anyway, but I don't think what Miss D is doing is at all appropriate; you can't force friendship with others. I would speak to her teacher about it, but I'm worried that Miss D will take it out on my daughter if I do (other parents whose kids have been in her class have said she's very thin-skinned). Would it be best to go straight to the principal and ask that Samantha be transferred to another classroom?-Involuntary Friends

Dear Involuntary Friends,

Your husband is right that, especially in third grade and at higher levels, your daughter is going to continue to meet other students that she might not want to be friends with but will need to be around in school settings. Transferring her into another classroom doesn't make much sense to me. What if she ends up in a similar situation there, too?

Instead, focus on helping her navigate this one year, building skills that can help her in the future. If she brings up certain instances in which her class "friend" says or does things she doesn't like, ask her questions about it and help her come up with solutions. "How did that make you feel?" "Do you think that's a situation to ignore or one that calls for bringing in an adult?"

You definitely don't have to make your daughter hang out with someone she doesn't want to spend time with outside of school. It sounds like it's not even a requirement at school. Your daughter might not care about the treats or toys either way (but you can certainly give your daughter the same treats at home if she does). You may be more upset at the fairness (or unfairness) of the task than she is.You mentioned connecting with the parents of kids who've been in her class in the past, but what about the parents of other current students? Do they also see this as a problem? If they do, you all could address this with her collectively so it doesn't fall only on your daughter.

Above all, I think you need to seriously reconsider your own approach to this teacher. While it's totally fair to dislike and want to address the way a teacher is handling something in the classroom, calling someone
"Miss D(umbass)," even in secret, shows you don't have respect for the person who's with your child for hours and hours on end every week. That's a problem, especially because this is the only issue you've mentioned having with her (and it's a pretty minor one in the grand scheme of things!). If you don't reframe how you think about educators, you're going to have a hard time as your daughter continues to grow and enter other grades, too.

Yeah, your little shit sure showed his significantly younger and more trusting cousins what for! They should have known better than to have been raised religious!
Dear Care and Feeding,

Last week my 12-year-old son "Preston" got one of those voice modulators and played a prank on his cousins when they came to visit.
My sister-in-law, "Amanda," is raising her two boys,
"Mike" and "Ike" (ages 6 and 7), to be fundamentalist Christian in the worst way. Mike and Ike were in the family room when Preston used the modulator while hiding behind the couch to give himself a booming voice and told the boys it was God talking to them. As a test of fait, he ordered them to walk through the wall, saying he would remove it. Mike and Ike ended up crashing into the wall. Preston then emerged from hiding laughing his ass off while Mike and Ike ran sobbing to their mom.
Now Amanda is furious and demanding an apology (and declaring Preston is going to Hell). My wife thinks our son needs to apologize. I think what happened was hilarious, not to mention being a good dose of reality for our nephews. In my opinion, if they're that gullible they got what was coming to them. Sorry, not sorry, right?Dear Riot,
Is what happened funny? Perhaps. Is what happened OK? Unfortunately not. Preston is older than his cousins, and he shouldn't make fun of their religious indoctrination in a way that involves them. Joking around with you and his mom is one thing, but causing them harm? It would have been much funnier for your son to do this to Amanda-and it still wouldn't have
been OK! What do you think that your nephews learned? That God isn't real? I highly doubt that this little joke has challenged their faith in anyone aside from their big cousin. If you want them to listen to him when it matters-perhaps when it comes to issues of sexuality or identity or bigotry-then this isn't the way he should be engaging with them now. What your son did was mean and he should apologize, period.

I let my hair grow back into its natural dark brown, but I wonder if I would have gotten more “acts woke” points if I still had the high-maintenance anime hair.

I find that this test can’t quite handle a southern Ontario accent, other than that I definitely don’t talk like a Southerner.
My dialect map, noting that I sound like someone from either Maine or San Francisco, which seems a bit incongruous

Mmff fffghgm mmrff ffrff.
SailorSoapbox has been smothered by a very snuggly Ginger Cat, their face and body imperceptible under magnificent fluffs of Calico fur. Ginger is very smug about it.

So how old do we think this Very Stinky Man is? My money’s on ~25, and I bet his dick isn’t even that good.
AITA for telling my girlfriend that she needs to shave her legs?
quote:
Here me out, before you all throw the misogynist card. I'll keep it as short as possible.
As background information, my girlfriend is very high-maintenance. She doesn't wear makeup or do fancy things with her hair, but she's always spending money on creams and oils and masks or whatever to put on her face and skin.
She says it helps moisturize and keep her skin and pores healthy. Honestly, I say that anything from health stores and brands is a waste of money but it's her money sol don't say much.
She is also very controlling when it comes to me and my apartment. My housemates and I are very busy and we hardly have guests over to entertain them. It's not like there are dead rats in the corners of the place but she doesn't like the occasional sweater thrown on the floor or dishes in the sink and she's always telling me to stop doing that.
On to the story, we were invited to my friend's wedding and because live much closer to the venue, she stayed the night (cue the complaining about dishes, paper on floor, etc.). I had a long day so I decided not to shower, which again she complained about but let it go since I told her l'd shower in the morning. In the morning when we were getting ready, I decided not to shower because I overslept and thought that washing my face and putting some cologne and deodorant would be more than sufficient. My girlfriend obviously protested saying that I was gross, so I got pretty annoyed and told her that it's gross that she doesn't shave her legs because it's a huge turn off and it's disgusting. It's bad enough that she doesn't wear makeup or heals or normal things girls are supposed to do. I know I can't force her to do anything but it's expected, you know? We're going to a damn wedding.
Things escalated and she got mad, saying that not showering was not the same thing as not shaving, especially is guys are not expected to shave. But society has already made that call. She then changed her clothes from slacks and a blouse to a dress that went to her knee, making her legs even more obvious. My mom says that I'm TA and is siding with Sabz.
This is ridiculous, AITA?
EDIT: I want to point out that, besides this issue, everything with my girlfriend is great and we're compatible on honestly every other aspect of life. I don't often comment on her legs, but this was a WEDDING!

@andrusi.bsky.social The worst is past, I think. RIP to those poor fuckers in Buffalo though.
