🍃falling into you 🍃Tifa Lockhart & Aerith Gainsborough 🍃2.2k words, rated T When Tifa falls into the Lifestream with Cloud, Aerith reaches out to save her. Written for Tifa Week 2026 Day 6: Lifestream/Fragments. ✨🎉HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIFA!! 🔗 archiveofourown.org/works/84214001

falling into you
sailorartemis

Summary:
Tifa closed her eyes, sucked in another liquid breath, and waited for the earth to drop her into its maw. For it to swallow her whole and and snap her neck. The pain waned into numbness, then the numbness waxed back into pain.

Until the flush of something gentle-something cold, but not so frigid - ashed over her skin and enveloped her trembling body in a baby blanket.

Kind fingers caressed the side of her face, slowly trailing down to her chin to where they finally let her go. Her shivering stopped. Tifa knew who it had to be. Who had swam all this way to rescue her.

"Aerith," she whispered into the current.

The lifestream rumbled placidly in response.

When Tifa falls into the lifestream with Cloud, Aerith reaches out to rescue her.

sailorartemis

Summary:
She spun the knife and slipped it back into its holster. "I'm here to train," she bit, piercing as a Midgar zolom's fang. Tseng couldn't pin the source of her sudden indignation. "If you here to spar, then spar. Don't psychoanalyze me."

Ah, so she was still reading him. Studying him. Sometimes Cissnei was too paranoid for her own good-and these last few days more so than usual.

"Cissnei," he began, "I-"

"Just say what you really want to say."

— — —
Cissnei makes a variety of destructive decisions following Zack's death. As director of the Turks, it is Tseng's duty to stop her.

scarlet roses bloom new in the old imperial gardens,

-those good traditional flowers, the old ways preserved.

it is like her,

to steal a place among the old things
to steal their sunlight and their moisture.
