Just one more climate risk assessment in the Himalayas, with some nice drone data will solve the problem. #Nepalflood

It is Umar Khalid's sixth birthday in prison. The Indian Govt has has unjustly jailed Khalid under the UAPA. He has not even been given a trial, or bail. May your spirit never be broken, Dr Umar Khalid. We failed you.

A little poem written by my lovely wife. We've been fighting a losing battle with our landlords about trees being cut outside our home. Trees being cut for car parks. For wires and cables. For "safety". For "because I can". www.jerushaisaac.com/post/need-eden

I know it’s intentional but we should stop calling everything AI, lumping useful machine learning techniques for science with large language models that tech companies are trying to cram into everything.

It is still the case, even in most well meaning research institutions, that the humanities is basically used for embellishments, and is not allowed to be a part of critical inquiry.

Reading should be a joy and not a chore. If you're not in the mood or can't find just the right book, it's okay to take a break. I've never been a constant reader. We all have our own unique relationship with books. And, books are always there when you're ready for them.

The whole purpose of studying climate change is to build a better future for ourselves, and the planet. What the hell is the point if we know we’re just going to continue bombing and killing each other? Hope is low. So hard to continue.
