🧠 Why does practice help us improve? Our brains can change through experience. Psychologists and neuroscientists call this neuroplasticity. This week's Psychology Mini Challenge explores what happens in our brains when we practise. #WorldYouthSkillsDay #Psychology #Scouts #Girlguiding #SAGI_UoN

To finish our National Writing Day mini series, we're exploring how writing can help us think. Psychologists use the term metacognition to mean 'thinking about our thinking'. Writing helps us organise ideas, reflect on experiences and understand our own thoughts more clearly. #Psychology #SAGI_UoN

Well done Daniel, our student apprentice for presenting at the PADHL seminar. Their project examines how children vs adults rate words (positive/negative/neutral). Data collection is ongoing but preliminary findings show overlap & differences e.g., habit rated more + by children!

Why SAGI exists. Many young people decide very early that science “isn’t for them”. The leaders we work with see something different. When science is fun, hands‑on, and happens in spaces where young people already belong, curiosity grows and confidence follows. That shift matters" #STEMEducation

🌍 Our behaviour is shaped by the people around us! So if we see others recycling, saving energy, or reusing bottles, then we’re more likely to do it too. That’s social norms in action! 🧠 Which habit will you spread today?🌱♻️ #EarthDay #Psychology #Habits #Scouts #Girlguiding #SAGI_UoN
