First time walking both Juniper and Brisco alone today and I'm so glad I'd already bought a halti and got Juniper used to it. She listens so much better and we even saw another dog being walked and managed to keep moving with far less drama than when she's just on a regular leash

Black coffee today, not because I like it that way, but because I thought about one lil spoonful of sugar and some creamer and my stomach said absolutely not

Listening to an 80s station and thinking "Rhythm is Gonna Get You" is threatening enough for a Halloween playlist and then it's immediately followed my "Ghostbusters" lol thanks for hearing my thoughts, universe

Quick spicy dilly beans from what is probably the last or very close to the last of the beans from my garden. The variety is royal burgundy and they'll be the normal green color by the time they're ready to eat in a couple days

A pepperoncini jar repurposed for a quick refrigerator pickle, now holding some royal burgundy beans, fresh dill, red pepper flakes, garlic cloves, and of course the vinegar, water, and salt.

Me, whispering to myself as I puzzle over something at my job (I work from home): Can I just try it and see what happens?

Yesterday was the fall equinox, so here's a nice, autumn themed Whimsical Horse Wednesday 🍂 #modelhorse #breyerhorses

I can't do this bonnet bullshit anymore. idk how people do this? There's no way I can secure my hair without it putting tension on my scalp somewhere and stuffing it loose in the bonnet is an exercise in frustration. Also I think this experiment has just made my TMJ worse

I have the type of anxiety where when I see a proposed ordinance for a 100' riparian buffer required for natural waterways, I save screenshots of the GIS map just in case there's a future where the city wants to argue about the manmade irrigation ditch running through our yard #justhomeownerstuff

I've been trying to reduce the frizz in my hair by putting it up and then in a bonnet. Seems to work. My problem is I haven't settled on the optimal way to put my hair up. A big floppy pineapple hurts, I don't have the patience to do a french braid every night,

Rich people wanna put their names on everything because they're terrified of death, it means people will forget them, they can't stand that. So they plaster their names everywhere they can, especially stuff associated with history and the arts, so their names can continue to be uttered with respect

In other news, I handed over the Vintage Club Sentinel & Echo set to Graye to list on ebay and them sumbitches already sold. I assume the buy it now price was a good deal lol but hey my goal is to reduce the collection and help get some money back after expensive old house repairs/upgrades

I told Graye I was gonna be a sexy mushroom for Halloween and let's just put aside the fact that the concept is already a mass produced costume and instead question why, when I search for hats, they're all amanita

Brisco turns 8 in December and he has a vet appointment because one rear foot is knuckling with no pain And I just remembered that over the past week or so, I saw him slip/stumble and fall a few times and he's never been a clumsy dog

Our local shelter's most recent tax filing states they're "the region's only open-admission shelter" and that's a blatant lie. They clearly say on their surrender page that they're limited-admission.

Ok so @dinosaucy.bsky.social kinda gave me the idea to do a fashion sketch style of thing as a base to throw outfits on. This way I can at least sketch the clothing idea with the hope that a pose will come later. Which does work usually, creativity has a tendency to bloom when actively engaged in

Juniper has been full of pleasant surprises this week and I'm so glad and proud of her 1. An oops meeting with the neighbor's pointer who got loose was nice and calm. Juniper even voluntarily checked in with me when I walked up to them, and she and Brisco went back into our yard with no fuss
