🌟 Participant spotlight: AKBANK 🌟 With a headquarters that has achieved WELL Gold pre-certification, AKBANK is already prioritising the health and wellbeing of its employees. Through Making the invisible visible, they're aiming to build awareness of the role IAQ plays in the workplace.
For us, indoor air quality is an essential part of creating a workplace where people feel comfortable and supported. Understanding the conditions in our indoor spaces helps us make informed improvements and continue building on the commitment reflected in our goal of achieving WELL Gold certification. We believe that information about the air we breathe should be accessible and understandable to everyone. Making the invisible visible connects people with their everyday surroundings, encourages shared responsibility and helps turn awareness into meaningful action.AKBANK building

How much do you know about the air in the buildings you walk into? For most, the answer is not much. As our founder Plum Stone discussed during our recent Making the invisible visible webinar, this can be particularly impactful for people living with disability or chronic health conditions.
Just having the information enables you to make an informed risk analysis… whereas without that, people have no idea what the space is they’re walking into.

For Hayley Teasdale from the Australian Academy of Science, having her own indoor air quality monitor really changed the way she thought about the spaces she was entering, and that’s why Making the invisible visible exists. @science.org.au
Until I had my own indoor air quality monitor, [I didn’t] realise how vulnerable I could be in other spaces. And that has been a real game changer for me.AAS Building lit up blue

In contrast to the well-established health protection arrangements for food safety and water quality, we lack a systematic approach to protect health through comprehensive policies and practices related to safer air. This is a critical public health gap.
