I think we should all at least try and get them to make CS8 safer (especially between Ram St and Old York Rd, where ut uses the gyratory). It could quite easily be taken along the shared spaces (not ideal but better than now) without that much work

And there are many other smaller things that I haven't mentioned (crossings etc.) and projects that were completed earlier in the year/ break ground soon. All of which to say, for everything bad going on right now, at least 2026 will have been a great year for cycleway development in London!

In the City of Westinster, despite the new authority cancelling a few of the upcoming cycleway projects, most have luckily survived the purge, with good progress on George St (first two photos), Cleveland St (third photo), Westbourne Terrace, Abingdon Street and Cycleway 51

As we near the end of summer, there's been lots of progress on cycleway development in London. The first here shows the Levelling-Up funded new cycle tracks outside Dagenham Heathway Station in Barking and Dagenham. Already good progress made and should be done by the end of the year!

I’m not against C20 being extended south, but I do find it bonkers that they‘re putting wayfinding in Islington when C20 hasn’t even found a way of getting through Haringey! Like will the two bits of C20 be connected before 2040?

Finally! There was a really long gap between the pavement works and the cycle track construction!

Such a shame. Do we know the ones that are definitely cancelled? I know about Bayswater Rd and Hamilton Terrace, but unsure about others

Not against these routes, as they generally nice and quiet, but some of them do scream of TfL being desperate to cash in more miles of new Cycleway with signs instead of infrastructure

Be careful Londoners. The roads seem more icy today than they did on Monday or Tuesday. I’ve seen about 10 falls since I left home 15 mins ago. Cycle slowly, look out for black ice and try and use roads that have been gritted!

Presumably these two C62s will connect one day, but very unclear what that route would be. My issue with it is that there is already a north Peckham to Kennington route proposed: C36. I sometimes think nobody at TfL is actually in charge of numbering. There’s been some strange decisions recently..
