great reporting here. basically yes DLSS 5 is running a gen AI model on the 2D output and nothing more. it doesn’t know anything about the 3D scene, textures / models / lighting / PBR other than what the model infers by looking at a frame. TL:DR, they sped up slop. youtu.be/D0EM1vKt36s?...

really though, I am very pleased I bought the mexi chambered ash telecaster vs the american vintage spec one. barrel saddle bridge, locking tuners I still need to install, and I’m still out less than I was gonna be for a nitro paintjob and a heavier, vintage spec guitar.

I feel really weird and scared right now, but I’m gonna be okay somehow. there is likely at least a breakdown, therapy (physical and otherwise), more med tests, lord knows what else in my near future. I’m really not sure who I’m gonna be after this.

okay I lied, I’ll keep bsky on my phone because this place doesn’t make me scream with my fingers so much. anyway, LTTP: I went through a (quite) serious health episode, spent five days in the hospital, lost a bunch of blood, and now I’m home safe watching TV, relearning to move and eat and rest.

not gonna lie it’s real fucking scary being in the hospital barely two months after my mom died with a possible cancer scare of my own happening all over again. I’m just glad to be out of the ICU finally and in a normal room. now for some more pressing matters: probably gonna start RE8 soon.

finished RE7 tonight, I’ve got DLC left but that’s a pretty good video game. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would have. Capcom were right to do it the way they did. DLC next, then it’s on to Village I think if I’m not feeling burnt out.

on the other hand, I’m playing video games since I can’t do much else. RE7 Biohazard is pretty good! I wasn’t sure going in but I’m liking it even though it’s got a little jank to it. the magic storage box system Capcom deployed in (almost) every RE game really makes it all work.

I love feeling like a feeble old man in my 39yo body as i collapse to the floor from getting up too quick, or I’m just weak from lack of calories I’m having a hard time consuming. It’s great. I love not being able to work because standing for too long makes my face erupt in pain for some reason.

I can’t wait to hit the point in RE9 where I’m like oh this is comfortable now, and I just run like an asshole from room to room, not afraid of whatever is lurking in the next one over because I know how to deal with it. The puzzle structure is straight up RE2 remake and I’m here for it.

I broke down and bought a switch 2, I figure if I’m gonna be miserable for a bit I might as well play some games. late to the party, but Mario Kart World is a lot of fun. completely took my mind off of the dumb health garbage for a while. excited to dig further into it.
