the truth is sometimes "bragging" is in fact normalizing and we should do it. see also: volunteerism and advocacy of all kinds. like yeah, search your heart every so often to make sure you're doing it for the right reasons (or else you'll get less accurate about when you SHOULD do it), but: do it.
