I love the Oxford comma. I was taught to use it while I lived in the UK and I still utilise it regularly. I have noticed that AI detectors flag up sentences based on the use of the Oxford comma. This makes me a bit sad for the poor, innocent, and clear little punctuation mark.

Robeyns explains how extreme wealth concentration undermines democracies: "A focus on harm is alien to the dominant thinking about money [--] But we need a paradigm shift when it comes to thinking about the negative effects of extreme wealth concentration." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Is it bad that Elon Musk has a trillion dollars? Yes, and here’s why | Ingrid Robeyns

Surprisingly many smart people have recently told me that they think that climate change is not a threat to humanity in the way that AI apparently is. I am not sure where this trend to discount climate risks is coming from, but it is sadly only wishful thinking. The risks are real.

A lot has been written about the Epstein files lately, but I think this is the best piece. Marina Hyde asks what has anyone in power done to attack the structures and attitudes that allowed the abuse to happen? The answer: pretty much nothing at all. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...?

So the Epstein scandal is about politics? Silly me for thinking it’s about the mass abuse of women and girls | Marina Hyde
Obsessing over individual players and political chaos leaves less time to focus on the misogyny. And that’s for the best, isn’t it guys, says Guardian columnist Marina Hyde
