I've been thinking about Dolly and Tim. They both had this bombast in their art, larger-than-life giants with an unashamed, radiant individuality. At the same time, by all accounts, in person they were kind, humble, and forgiving. We should strive to live lives that would make both of them proud.

Excellent recommendation from a listener on bandcamp. I'm humbled to have my music compared to such an act. It's a little like "Scenes From Hell" by Sigh—it's heavy, weird, and avant garde, but it also has horns with kind of an evil marching band vibe.

I gotta be honest, I don't like when music has that "ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the show" energy.

But rw ideology is inherently violent. Violence as both means and end. It focuses on who needs to be forced out of society, or, failing that, exterminated. It focuses on taking from the disabled, the physically weak, the gentle. Because the most hateful and warlike are the most "deserving."

In a way, a kid like this is a lot like Chuck. Fed hateful rhetoric at a young age, and sealed off from the world so the hate can crystallize and fester. Young lefties that age can be annoying, sure. Who isn't annoying at the age of like, 18-22? You're figuring your views on the world out.

Cause if it was someone who was trans, Black, queer, left-leaning, whatever, the narrative is that those things MAKE a person bad. If it's a straight white Christian, he's just misunderstood, or never had a chance. And maybe he never had a chance. That goes for anyone who commits such an act.

Nobody who's capable of basic pattern recognition could be surprised that Chuck got blasted by a fellow rw guy. Public displays of deadly violence are overwhelmingly the territory of the right, and now the kid's probably gonna get his own podcast or something.
