Our regular donation links are all still functional (and still the fastest way to get donations to us), as is our wishlist. But if you need a tax receipt, or would like to check a box permanently off your mental to-do list and set up a recurring donation, those options are available here.

Dandelion Seeds @sacdandelion.bsky.social · 01/05/2025

They have also set up a donation portal for directed funds to us. They have exciting things like online card payment processing! And they are a 501c3, so you can write donations off on your taxes. And...drumroll...you can set up a recurring donation!

One of those partnerships is with A Radical Guide. Their mission is really cool - a one-stop, cash deductible donation portal that will fund multiple local grassroots orgs, all working, boots on the ground, to take care of ultra local, vulnerable neighbors. You should donate to that mission!

Friends & community! We are sure you have heard - its the Big Day of Giving. We are always working hard behind the scenes, even when you dont hear from us for a while. Part of that behind the scenes work is building community partnerships.

Spent the day doing a bonus mutual aid street meal. 75 people got a hot meal, water; socks and Narcan. We take care of us.

Donations are down a bit from this time last year. And we get it, things are tough right now. But if you can spare some money, we promise to use it to help someone, directly and immediately. And we're so thankful that you help us do it. -The Dandelion Seeds team

Dandelion Seeds @sacdandelion.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

We don't get paid, a generous member of our team donates storage space for supplies, and we donate or do without office supplies. Every penny we collect, and more, goes straight into direct aid to our most vulnerable community members.

Dandelion Seeds @sacdandelion.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

126 bags of emergency food, 481 hygiene kits, 79 heat comfort kits, 50 storm survival bags, and 358 packs of Narcan. What your money doesn't pay for with us is administrative overhead.

Dandelion Seeds @sacdandelion.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

With your help. this year we've managed to provide our community with 1436 meals, 5105 bottles of water, 1138 sports drinks, 83 tarps, 59 tents, 260 blankets, 282 packs of wipes, 1625 pairs of socks (thank you #Bombas!), 2174 condoms, 836 harm reduction kits,

Dandelion Seeds @sacdandelion.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

$25 buys a case of wipes. $30 buys a case of hand warmers. $90 will buy one of the larger tents that are suitable for a couple or a person in a wheelchair or with other mobility issues.

100

Dandelion Seeds @sacdandelion.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

So a donation of $1? That buys someone a meal, a hat, a flashlight, or a pair of gloves. We serve 30-100 people every time we go out. $3 is the cost of a pack of baby wipes - one of our most requested items. $6 is 40 bottles of water. $15 pays for the packing containers for one week's meals.

100

Dandelion Seeds @sacdandelion.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

We work hard to make sure every penny we collect has the most impact we can wring out of it. What is it that your money goes towards? We budget $1 a serving for our hot meals in the winter, $1.50 a person for our sack lunches in the summer.

Dandelion Seeds @sacdandelion.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

So the internet says it is #GivingTuesday, and all sorts of organizations and causes have their hats out looking for funds. Dandelion Seeds is entirely funded by grassroots community contributions from individuals and other small local organizations.

We’re having some capital-W Weather this week. I was out last night, handing out the last of our tarps, a few tents, and half of the storm survival packs that we made at the workshop that the The LGBT Community Center hosted. This weather is going to wreck tents, soak blankets, and shred tarps.
