Averaged over the 70 years of existence of nuclear power, it has caused the least amounts of deaths from operating (counted as deaths per 1000TWh). Yes, less than wind, solar, and hydro. It's the most dense source and easiest to handle of all the waste generators. So... why just 10% of capacity?

For example, you might have intrinsic properties determined by your genes, your environment, your upbringing, some things that if you take out then you wouldn't be you anymore. For example, give me a new fresh cerebellum and I probably won't be autistic anymore but I probably won't be me anymore. But the word "Autistic" used to describe a set of properties arising from my cerebellum (and probably other things) that we might be able to actually see deeper when we have better technology is different from "Autistic" used by society, or the medical professionals, or government to describe me, my status, what my rights are or aren't. It all depends on what you decide to look at, what do you cluster together, what *game* you're playing and with whom.
Also, a 'birther' is anyone who wants to have kids. A 'birthing person' is anyone who is capable of bearing children (maybe in the future, not only AFAB people). A 'mother'... well, that's a totally different thing. At least, in the game I'm playing right here and now.
I think most of society's problem recognizing these constructs (I mean, mostly super conservative people who argue there is only one definition for every word or phrase and that's it) just fail to recognize that society, language, and our social constructs and contracts just... evolve, constantly, almost irreversibly, and always without our personal written approval. On one hand, that sucks. On the other hand, that's life, that's society, and we have to learn that if we want to live in one.

This is about a kilo of hummus. Well seasoned, well garliced. Cost about 10 shekels and most of the work was just supervising and tasting. Though I do have a food processor to clean. Should probably do this more.

A Boss should last as long as it takes to show most of why it's cool and not long enough to make it feel tedious. Thinking about this, I think about the bosses of Returnal, Diablo IV, and Draw Steel. All of them don't have the classic "Armor Class". #ContinuedInAltText
In Returnal and Diablo IV, bosses have a checkpoints in their health that trigger new mechanics and while in Returnal, the bosses might be lasting too long, in Diablo IV, if you come with a good build and a group, they last between 2-5 minutes, enough for you to run through your rotation 3-4 times and for the boss to show you all they have for 2-3 times. I think that's good.

In Draw Steel, they plan for combat to take between 1.5 rounds on the fast side and 4 rounds on the slow side. This is enough for a boss to use most of their Malice features and 2 out of 3 if not all Villain Actions, each becoming more and more dangerous. This is exciting because you're trying to get them down as fast as you can and be smart about it but you pretty much know you'll see at least the 2nd strongest power they have if not the 1st. And it's even more exciting because you're usually there at your strongest of this adventure but at your weakest with your ability to heal and survive. So it's a total rush when you survive it, especially if your survived Villain Action 3 and/or the highest Malice ability.

And all of this while continuously doing damage. You see the race between how fast you can get them down while still doing your best to dodge, avoid, and soak their strongest attacks.

It's an exciting race instead of just hoping to get a hit every once in a while.

Also, I think it's actually easier to balance because with "AC", it's a chance of whether you actually hit, and with d20 games, a big range of how much actual damage, while with these three games, you know the pretty narrow band of how much damage they do with each hit at each stage and you can plan for that: '1.5 rounds if they hit like a truck all the time' to '4 rounds if they roll like shit time after time'. In d20 games, if they roll like shit, they can spend 2-4 hours, most of it waiting, doing almost nothing.

Whenever I see something like this, I remember the little foreword to Nightfall. And whenever I think about doing something like that, I tell myself to remember Nightfall. Remember Nightfall, dear fantastical writers. Remember Nightfall.
TO THE READER
Kalgash is an alien world and it is not our intention to have you think that it is identical to Earth, even though we depict its as speaking a language that you can understand, and using terms that are familiar to you. Those words should as mere equivalents of alien terms—that is, a conventional set of equivalents of the same sort that a writer of novels uses when he has foreign characters speaking with each other in their own language but nevertheless transcribes their words in the language of the reader. So when the people of Kalgash speak of "miles," or "hands," or "cars," or "computers," they mean their own units of distance, their own grasping-organs, their own ground-transportation devices, their own information-prcressing machines, etc. The computers used on Kalgash are not necessarily compatible with the ones used in New York or London or Stockholm, and the "mile" that we use in this is not necessarily the American unit of 5,280 feet. But it seemed simpler and more desirable to use these familiar terms in describing events on this wholly alien world than it would have been to invent a long series of wholly Kalgashian terms.
In other words, we could have told you that one of our characters paused to strap on his quonglishes before setting out on a walk of seven vorks along the main gleebish of his native znoob, and everything might have seemed ever so much more thoroughly alien. But it would also have been ever so much more diffcult to make sense out of what we were saying, and that did not seem useful. The essence of this story doesn't lie in the quantity of bizarre terms we might have invented; it lies, rather, in the reaction of a group of people somewhat like ourselves, living on a world that is somewhat like ours in all but one highly significant detail, as they react to a challenging situation that is completely different from anything the people of Earth have ever had to deal with.Under the circumstances, it seemed to us better to tell you that someone put on his hiking boots before setting out on a seven-mile walk than to clutter the book with quonglishes, vorks, and gleebishes.
If you prefer, you can imagine that the text reads "vorks" wherever it says "miles," "gliizbiiz" wherever it says "hours," and "sleshtraps" where it says "eyes." Or you can make up your own terms. Vorks or miles, it will make no difference when the Stars come out.
