Pipe Racks in the Waves Along south beach near the western end of the island, there are about 30 steel columns (pipes) standing in the surf & swash zone. They are the remains of the pipe racks which were part of the former staging area for Mobil Oil’s west spit operation in the early 1970s…. 🧵1/4
