Well, the other country is Cyprus. It was because of the Green Line, this 180 km buffer zone controlled by the UN which has separated the island since 1974 between the Republic of Cyprus in the south and the occupied territory in the north by Turkiye. This year Cyprus will normally join Schengen

These bases are used by US forces. In CNN I saw a video where they showed maps of US military bases in the world. Cyprus was on the map, as if it was american. So no need to activate the article 42.7. The EU was not under attack, it was the UK/US "coalition" at the beginning of the war

Trump is reported close to a "deal" with himself under which US taxpayers would pay him $10 billion. I served in multiple communist and authoritarian dictatorships, but I never witnessed corruption on this scale or this blatant.
