When the new EHRC code of practice turns a conversation about women’s safety into gender policing, where does the line stop? Nish and Coco are joined by LGBTQ+ activist and Trans Pride Brighton co-founder Sabah Choudrey to discuss on new episode out now.

Trans people deserve equality. I'm joining the mass lobby on 9th September. The government wants us to accept laws that are broken quietly. We won’t. @transsolidarity.bsky.social www.transsolidarityalliance.com/mass-lobby-2026

Mass Lobby for Trans Equality - 9th September 2026
The law around trans equality is fundamentally broken. Government inaction is hanging trans people and organisations out to dry - with a confusing mess of challenging rules and lawfare.

It's really funny how Maya Forstater and Julie Bindel spend all their time online fearmongering about how trans people are dangers to women and children yet they went to a stadium full of 10k trans people and nothing at all happened to them. Thanks for the donation, hope you enjoyed the show!
A screenshot of a post by Maya Forstater on X (formerly Twitter). The main image is a dark, blue-tinted selfie of Forstater in the foreground, wearing glasses and a patterned scarf. Behind her is a large, crowded concert arena with a brightly lit stage in the distance. Below the photo is a quote-repost from "The Lies They Tell" (@sarahstuartxx) which reads:
"Join me tonight as I cover live the thrills and spills of the Trans Mission Live concert. Turns include Zack Polanski, Beth Ditto and a bunch of people you’ve never heard of. Literally hundreds of people attending the #FoxKillersVanityProject"A screenshot of a post by Julie Bindel on X featuring the hashtag #TransMission. The image shows a candid, side-profile photo of a woman with short dark hair wearing a long-sleeved green shirt. She is leaning against a black metal railing in what appears to be a dimly lit venue with purple ambient lighting.

Sabah Choudrey - Trans activist, writer and youth worker who champions trans and non-binary rights, particularly within South Asian communities. Their work empowers queer youth and advocates for inclusive mental health care. 3/4
This image has a background with different shades of brown. There illustrations of floral patterns. The text reads: South Asian Heritage Month Spotlight - Sabah Choudrey, he/they.

Sabah Choudrey is a trans activist, writer, and youth worker whose work has made a lasting impact on LGBTQIA+ communities in the UK. While studying in Brighton, Sabah co-founded Trans Pride Brighton in 2013, the UK’s first trans pride event. Their TEDx talk "Brown, Trans, Muslim and Proud" and appearance on The Rainbow List in 2015 helped raise visibility for queer South Asians.

Sabah has spent over a decade supporting trans youth, particularly people of colour, through their work at Gendered Intelligence and as co-founder of the Colours Youth Network. They continue to build inclusive spaces through roles with Middlesex Pride and the Inclusive Mosque Initiative.

Sabah also wrote "Supporting Trans People of Colour" to help others create more inclusive practices.
