So... FF7 Revelation, eh? People seem pretty hype. Boy am I not. I have to see how it ends, you know, sunk cost and all... I wrote a while back about how insidious franchise un-death is, and how nostalgia and late capitalism just won't let something end. www.kosatenmag.com/home/ff7-hor...

Fall of the House of Shinra — Kosaten

On a dreary day in October, I realize that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is nothing short of a horror story. To wish for Aeris to live once more, and not let the dead past be, we are wishing to be cursed. H...

I really miss the Shinbō x SHAFT years. They were really cooking. Great art direction. Maximum moé charm. French House producer Dimitri From Paris outta nowhere. It’s such a vibe.

So much *discourse* going on about Frieren that is frankly, really annoying, because it’s not a GOATED anime (though it is great, I ❤️ it, don’t get me wrong), but the takeaway of the series is perfectly encapsulated here. Go on a silly adventure, make a memory, you won’t regret it! It’s that simple!

It’s funny the last few Dunmeshi brand collabs I’ve seen over in Japan have featured Chilchuck looking max stressed. Hey Chilly, why u so stressed my guy? lil dude needs a vacation like yesterday. 🥲

When Frieren is in 'Journey Mode' there's really nothing like it. It's when the show is at its most powerful. It truly feels like magic. Pastoral landscapes, Evan Call's phenomenal score, little character moments... I love it so much. 😭

Frieren S2 has me excited. This trailer looks like a return to the wistful nostalgia and ruminations on time, memory and friendship that was the best part of S1. A while back, I wrote about why this is Frieren’s best mode and how dang relatable it all is: www.kosatenmag.com/home/memory-...
