I would word it differently, but again and again, you keep repeating this. You should've taken WAY MORE care on spurring something publicly than someone who should still do it even if they're smaller. I don't give much leeway just as you don't for different things.

This analogy only works if you know both said authors stand by that belief. Which you don't know, because again, you didn't make the effort. Again, this simply could've been avoided if you actually tried to talk to the dev in the first place, like you said you "always try to do." You have the right to opinion, but you don't have the right to dictate what they are and what they experienced. Now maybe go do what you suggested.

Again, there would be no need for public apologies if the decision to be private was the first move. It is not hard to contact the creator. My situation lands in the same ballpark but is from someone unwilling to talk, but that's all in the past now. They just need to be better from this.

Being on the receiving end of this before, no. It's not enough. People who know they're a bigger presence should know what they are capable of when they post online. Keep it private like you said you should've in the first place. "I always make an effort." Clearly, they don't. That's all.

So it's about the author and your prejudice of his upbringing and experience, over what's being told and depicted in the story? You're falling from criticizing the conclusion in writing, to, "the author is a bad person." Something portrayed positively in fiction doesn't mean the author believes it.

"Homophobia brought into queer spaces." I'm not even gonna bother. Name any major queer media, and it likely has homophobia, but you still enjoy and root for the media anyway, until this one. This is just hypocritical.

Is that your conclusion, or the story's? That goes past the ability of being able to say "It's what the creator believes.". I can write a gay character being called terrible things, so if I don't conclude that with the positive that "gay is ok", past your own belief already, what does that make me?

btw, I will write stories about people who do bad things and I won't do it by putting bright lights that say it's bad or by punishing them at the end of the story like we're under the hays code, because I expect my audience to be adults that grew past reading fables in elementary
