I wish I didn't have this desire to be good at art, I think my life would be so much easier to live. This constant need to create something, battling with the seemingly unassailable foe of self-hatred and self-criticism.. it's exhausting, and infuriating. #art #help

Oh! And I hit a really big milestone for me; I understood a naturally spoken sentence by a native speaker by accident! During The Game Awards I told my friend what a sentence meant before the translator did, and I was very proud of myself. Pathways are forming!

I have what feels like a pretty high retrievability as well! I find all this just to be so exciting; like I'm finally making progress after YEARS of studying on and off. #Japanese #Study #Anki #日本語＃勉強

Ryoko Tsutsui @ryokovt.bsky.social · 18/12/2024

I've been having more and more instances of "accidentally" knowing a reading of a word. Where I don't consciously know it, but the moment I look at it the word in Japanese floats through my thoughts. I'm consistently surprised when I reveal the word and find I was right.

000

Ryoko Tsutsui @ryokovt.bsky.social · 18/12/2024

Here are my card counts. I'm using the Kaishi 1.5k deck, and I'm blown away to almost be at a thousand studied words already. Actually once I've studied today, it *will* be 1000. The home stretch approaches!

000

Ryoko Tsutsui @ryokovt.bsky.social · 18/12/2024

I've reached 100 days straight of Japanese vocab study! This is a milestone for me, I haven't kept up this consistently before. I've had days where I just mashed my left click through, but I've kept it going lol. More to come!

000

Ryoko Tsutsui @ryokovt.bsky.social · 15/12/2024

So, interesting things are happening with my Japanese study. I'm just over 90 days in a row studying vocab in Anki, and instances of accidental understanding are increasing in frequency! It's so strange but also awesome. #VTuber #Japanese #Study #日本語
