At last is my part for the art exchange! @rynlaprime.bsky.social has a whole cast of unique and colorful characters, but I definitely think Rynla, the protagonist, is my favorite!! I had a lot of fun drawing her 💚 #art #artexchange

Anime style drawing of a young woman with dragon wings, bright red and yellow hair, looking at the viewer with a smile. There is a dragon skull paldron on her right shoulder. The background is a dark teal with a gold frame behind the character.

“Ponzu’s been moving all day with chores. Back and forth, back and forth. Well Ponzu is sick of it! The cow is on vacation and the kitchen is **closed.**”

A stylized digital illustration of a figure drawn in black and white, wearing a cocktail dress, with an exasperated or fed-up expression on their face. The figure appears to be sitting against a tree with their lower half transforming into ostrich-like legs rendered in blue tones. Their hair is dramatically styled, and their monochromatic rendering creates a stark contrast against the vibrant background of deep purples, magentas, and reds. The background features abstract, painterly textures and patterns that create a moody, atmospheric effect.

The two additional figures demonstrate how she appears when copying others directly: Rosella (which I posted about yesterday) on the left and me, Rynla, on the right. 🙋‍♀️

Aye, there’s a thought. Her current form is probably cobbled together from her favorite ‘parts’ she’s found over the years 😂

I realized she shouldn't look like a part of the natural world. Her design emphasizes physical transformation over stealth, focusing on her ability to amalgamate chosen features rather than simply blend in as a shapeshifter. Gremlins don’t need stealth, just chaos 💙

So, Kaimara posed a unique challenge due to her otherworldly nature. My initial vomit concepts, started quite humanesque. The breakthrough came when I experimented with abnormally large arms, and the design finally clicked with the addition of blue skin.

✨ Meet Kaimara—a spirit entity named after the legendary Chimera. She's tethered to our world through spiritual energy and her anchor, a mystical mask. When her energy wanes, she retreats to this mask form, but at full power, she manifests as an otherworldly being. A bit more on my process below 👇🏻

A digital art illustration of three character designs presented side by side against a grey background, showcasing different forms of the shapeshifting spirit Kaimara. All figures share the same turquoise blue skin tone and utilize a cohesive color palette of orange, navy blue, and red with bold black outlines.

The center figure depicts Kaimara's true form, wearing an orange long sleeved top and navy-blue pants. Her most distinctive features are the long sleeves that end in strange, forked hand-like appendages. Above, she hair is like a four leafed red palm tree with a floating decorative mask next to her, symbolizing her spiritual anchor and mask form.

The mask has her distorted irises and mouthless face. The mask’s hair differs with the hair being curved up instead of down, and the hair has blue African body paint elements incorporate into it.

The left figure shows Kaimara mimicking the character Rosella Hoffmer, adopting Rosella's characteristic pointed hair design while wearing a combination of orange and navy-blue clothing. The right figure displays Kaimara's interpretation of Rynla Prime, featuring flowing red hair and a streamlined orange dress with blue accents.

An earlier concept design of Kaimara showing notable color differences from her final design. Here, she has peachy flesh-toned skin instead of the later turquoise blue. Her floating mask element appears in light blue with a navy center, rather than the final red and turquoise version.

Three early concept sketches for Kaimara showing a progression of simplified humanoid forms against a grey background. The left figure features bright pink hair with a bow, a turquoise outfit with decorative swirls, and peachy skin tone - representing a more traditionally styled character design. The middle and right figures are basic white body silhouettes with minimal detail, showing them to be incomplete, though the middle one includes an orange mask or visor with a dramatic blue plume - suggesting an early exploration of the mask concept. These rough sketches appear to be initial "vomit" concepts, quickly drawn to explore different possible directions for the character before settling on her final otherworldly design.

The first batch of concept sketches for Kaimara showing three different humanoid designs against a grey background. The left figure has a turquoise pineapple-like hairstyle, orange skin, and a pink asymmetrical clothing design. The middle figure features light blue hair, peachy skin, and red spiral-shaped clothing elements. The right figure is a basic white silhouette with flowing pink hair. These initial "vomit" concepts explore various color combinations and styling elements, showing how far the character evolved from these early human-like designs to her final otherworldly appearance.

Epic XD On day that teacher will be like: That one, they learned anatomy in my class. Everyone else: You teach MATH! Silliness aside, I’ve been working on my anatomy on and off. But it is quite a process to learn the theory and develop the observation for it. Can’t way to see your next study 📚

The character's name is Rosella Hoffmer. She has powerful connections to spirits and is a lioness at heart. 💚 She becomes a nemesis to Rynla.

I've been messing with some character designing recently. 🗿 I'm sharing some of the designs I went through until I settled on the last one, I was going for a bit of a flamboyant enchanter/witchy character. 🧙‍♀️ It's my first time trying this process, and yes, I did switch brushes in between. 🖌️😂

A digital illustration of a mysterious figure in an elegant dress against a swirling emerald green background. The character wears a dramatic gown split between emerald green and deep purple, with a golden medallion at the chest. They have striking black hair styled sharply and wear matching emerald earrings. The background features dynamic brush strokes and dark speckles creating an atmospheric, magical effect. The overall composition suggests movement and mystical energy, with the dress appearing to flow in an unseen wind against the deep forest-colored background.

A digital illustration of three minimalist fashion designs on a gray background. From left to right: (1) a figure in a rose-pink flowing dress with a light pink V-neck detail and long black hair, (2) a figure wearing a navy blue asymmetrical dress with a matching hat and pink accent, and (3) a figure in a black and emerald green color-blocked dress with sharp geometric lines and short black hair. The designs are rendered in a clean, flat style with solid colors and simple silhouettes, reminiscent of modern fashion illustrations.

A digital illustration showing three fashion design sketches of witch-inspired outfits arranged in a row. Each figure features a unique combination of purple, turquoise, and brown colors. From left to right: (1) a figure wearing a purple cloak with brown boots, (2) a figure in a turquoise top and flowing purple skirt with brown boots, and (3) a figure wearing a purple ensemble with turquoise accents and a witch's hat. The sketches have a loose, watercolor-like quality with flowing lines and soft color transitions. All three designs showcase different interpretations of modern witch fashion with varying silhouettes and styling elements.

From left to right: (1) a figure wearing a sage green top, blue pants, and brown boots with lavender hair, (2) a figure in a purple asymmetrical top with brown pants and boots, featuring dark spiky hair, and (3) a figure wearing a flowing orange-red dress with brown boots and white hair. Each design has a loose, painterly style with soft brush strokes and shows different casual to semi-formal styling options. The sketches maintain a consistent height and proportional relationship across all three figures.

That’s so awesome XD What’s the idea behind the character you drew? I’ve been messing with a similar process and designing some characters from it recently 😄 Just playing with shapes and seeing if I can convey character through the presentation and such.

Hippopotamus 🦛 Hippopotamin 👶🏼 Hippopotonom 🦷 I’m just being silly now, they’re surprisingly interesting animals given that they’re faster than you think and are so heavy they don’t swim they sink but just walk along the bottom of riverbeds. A profoundly blubbery behemoth.
