a lot of people liked this and i considered redrawing more scenes and even had one picked out (kiyomaro accidentally slamming a door in gash's face because he got distracted by a snail) but i ultimately never did it i love kng. anime reboot someday i hope. i can't believe it's actually possible...

6/7 i hit the image cap on va with the 25th image and i posted the rest in the comments, so i didn't color the final images because i was very exhausted lol

Mikudayo: You may grab on, you wise man!

Mikudayo: O-of course I knew instantly whether that was correct or not! Like I'd lose to shit! Ha!

Someone offscreen: That's our Kiyoteru!
Kiyoteru: I was lucky it was just a simple multiplication question...

The rest of the images starting from this one are uncolored as they were a bonus.

Mikudayo: Alright, the last person may come forward. It's the final question!

5/7 sorry i forgot to write 4/7 on the previous post

Mikudayo: Say it again, you piece of shit! Even if you just randomly blurted out an answer, repeating it would be--

Kiyoteru: What? Can't calculate if I'm right? So, what about it?

Ryli @rylitah.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

the only deliberate character assignments were: kiyomaro -> kiyoteru gash -> yuki (ofc) momon -> dex (for the joke) unko tintin -> mikudayo (couldn't think of anyone better) umagon -> kaede-san (was popular at the time + worked perfectly) everyone else was just randomly assigned (1/7 apparently)

Screenshot redraw from the Konjiki no Gash Bell!! anime (specifically episode 132; the manga equivalent of this episode is chapters 199-200).

Mikudayo (in place of Unko Tintin): Above is a flood, below is a big fire. What is it?

Ryuto/Gachapoid (in place of... I think Kanchome?): The answer is... a bath.
Mikuday: Correct!

Mikudayo: A wolf or a human. What are you?
Dex (in place of Momon): Dex.
Mikudayo: Correct!

Kiyoteru (in place of Kiyomaro): Hey, you.

so speaking of kng, i remember a long time ago (in 2017...) i redrew scs from the faudo arc that i really like with a bunch of vocaloids. it's really old art that i'm embarrassed by now so i'm going to hide it in the replies here, but i never posted it anywhere outside of va so now it has a new home

120

Ryli @rylitah.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

it appears so. okay let me post what i was trying to post last night

110

Ryli @rylitah.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

Ryli @rylitah.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

considered posting this on main (twitter) but got shy about it so i'm only posting here instead. been rereading kng and felt inspired to attempt an older kid design (kid has always been in my top faves) please show up in kng2 soon kid... the professor is waiting... [ #zatchbell #konjikinogash ]

i think i had a more visceral reaction to kou showing up halfway through the concert because i didn't expect it. like i knew kiyoteru was gonna be there that's the whole selling point for me but KOU was a surprise. even in front of an audience he's beefing with rito

040

Ryli @rylitah.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

i'm just playing toys either way. i love koukiyo i love joheim what can i say

020

Ryli @rylitah.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

i indeed already have had the revelation that joheim visually reminds me of koukiyo (and then my friends straight up asked me about it later and i was like Well....). how curious there are also other examples of ships i like with visual similarities. i'm a little scared i didn't think i had a type
