Here's my review of the new @hiddenmothers.bsky.social album Heavy bits are heavy, melodic bits are melodic, can't understand a word, artwork looks nice, awful people, 13/7 (Obviously joking... no one rates an album out of 7, other bits may or may not be true, either way, listen to it)

As a drummer, I've always enjoyed playing in Scotland and hoped to get there again with Copse. Unless I do a tom and kick set not sure I'll get the chance now... (On a serious note, this is an amazing ban, well done Scotland 🙏🏻, lets hope others follow)

"the sweet ain't as sweet without the sour", tough is good! Ultimately it's your creative output, if you're happy with it that's what matters, but I can tell you now... If you're happy, us listeners are going to be.

And again, personally, I'd much rather listen to that being expressed than "dear Tracy's mom"

I think, personally, if you have a voice to be heard and it's something you are passionate about, do it. Sadly, it'll always remain relevant in some way, look at RATM, as important and prominent now as they were 20 years ago, if not more so. I don't think it's cliche, I think it's empowering.

If it's something people can relate to (and it really is in the current climate) then it's only a good thing for the artist and the listener. Relatable/interpretable art is the one.
