The problem with modern slashers is that they don't focus enough on the full outfit. They put a lot of effort into designing the mask but then they put the guy in a T Shirt and jeans. You need an outfit to make an iconic slasher. You need a silhouette

Too tired to fully dissect Josh Giuliano's stripped-down slasher RIVER but - some really good images, not always convinced by the more surreal flourishes, has some of the best sound of a recent horror movie. Ultimately a real winner by the end, and it ends really, really strong.

I am not used to long hair. For example my bathtub is a mess and I accidentally ripped out a clump of hair while trying to shampoo. It looks spectacular but tbh there are drawbacks.
