You not sure about backing the kickstarter of a 240+ page book? I get it. That’s a big commitment, you’re busy people! Why not read the entire first 34 pages (chapter 1 of 6) for free instead. www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/hnvyx... Download it, share it around. Vandalise it if you must.

The mockup of the Space Captain Kickstarter book floats on a bright pink background. Some people would argue it’s more of a red. But the author maintains the pink illusion.

An inner page of the space Captain comics. It shows a zoomed out image of an ice planet. We slowly pan in on the surface. We are shown desolate icy landscapes and long dead animal skeletons.
A long figure walks through the icy fields.

The first panel reads “Foran 4”.
The second panel reads “somewhere between Foran 3 and Foran 5”
The last panel reads “not that anyone cares”.

Terry Pratchett & Rob Wilkins @terryandrob.bsky.social · 12/03/2025

Shortly before he died, Terry Pratchett assured me that, if there is an afterlife, he would give me a ring and let me know. That was ten years ago - and still no call.

From which, incidentally, I draw no firm conclusions. What if there was an afterlife, but with no phone signal?

But of course there is one place where Terry indisputably lives on: in the pages of his books and in the minds of the millions of readers around the world who turn those pages and continue to find them funny and true.

For, while his words live on, so does Terry, and that will be the case, no question, not just for this one decade so quickly gone, but for many further decades to come.

So let me join Lyn and Rhianna in raising a glass today to the magical persistence of books and to Sir Terry; gone but still so very firmly with us.

Last, I received my signed copies of @mouseguard.bsky.social's Mouse Guard! I've been super excited to read Mouse Guard for a while and will need to pick up Fall 1152 soon. I appreciate the kind words included with my packages and can't wait to dive into these books!
