He kinda set the standard for all those to follow. While a bit before my time as soon as it was deemed ok to show me James Bond movies I was given a steady diet of them. I would say that title of “mad scientist” does apply to most of the tech billionaires today. Maybe we can bring it back.

Pretty much all of them. That’s why so much of the media I’ve consumed in life left me ill prepared for the current world we live in. Where are the spies & assassins that take care of these things? Is any country actually virtuous or are they all merely out for money and power, citizens be damned?

I can’t see that ever happening. It may take some time but there are so many actual family relationships between the US and Canada that I truly believe that these fences can be mended. The truth of things will eventually catch up to the lies being told. It may just take some time.

This is the single greatest motivator for me, read great books in my genre. Before, I had thought it might alter or influence my stories, but all it’s done is further expand my imagination and make me a better writer.

I’ve often thought that my death will be in some way related to cheese. Either from cholesterol or a massive cheese wheel crushing me like that boulder was trying to do to Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark. The latter way actually seems a lot more epic now that I’m typing this thought out.

I’ve always leaned more into SF than fantasy although I have read a little here and there. I’ll add those authors to the list of ones to check out. That list grows longer and the time to read gets shorter by the day.

I learned at 49 and have the same reaction to caffeine. Finding out that diagnosis really made a whole lot of things in my life become much clearer as to why I behave the way I do. It’s a big adjustment to make and feels like I’m now having to figure out how to operate in the world again.

@amalelmohtar.com were you and Max able to choose who narrated ‘TIHYLTTW’? It’s one of the best audiobook experiences I’ve had. Read the book earlier this year and loved it. The audiobook adds so much emotional depth to it, or at least conveys it better than I can imagine it.

Exactly. I wouldn’t buy it if he was making good decisions and even those around him are fairly aware of it. Grief can make you do a lot of things that would normally be out of character and even self destructive. I envy those who don’t know that.

The most recent SNW episode was definitely not for me. Excessively silly premise and (spoilers?) it was all a dream. Star Trek has done silly episodes before but this felt like a whole new level. It wasn’t long before I was playing a game while the episode ran its course. #StarTrek
