Hipster shout: Opening Weekend. For Omloop, watch the rave-like sign on at t'Kuipke in Gent, then get the train to Geraardsbergen and watch the races on the Muur. The next day, head to Kortrijk for the start and get the bus to Kuurne for the finishing laps. Bit colder than the other classics though!

After the Hautacam stage of last year's Tour de France, we stayed in a classic Lourdes hotel: tiny room, crucifix and lots of dust above the door, grumpy receptionist. A few days ago they sent me (and presumably everyone else who stayed there in 2025) this in the post. Might have to go back now...
