Was going through old sketchbooks last night and still liked this drawing from 2007 of Wolverine talking about his hobbies.

A sketch of Wolverine. He’s jumping towards the viewer holding a cupcake. His word balloons read:

“I’m the best there is at what I do.”

“And what I do is bake delicious cupcakes. Yum!”

Understanding this “small translucent dome on top of opaque larger sphere” structure of eye anatomy has really helped me place the flat circle of the iris and the glint on top of the smaller dome. #art #arttutorials

An illustration showing the structures that need to be understood to correctly place the iris and any light reflections off of it in art.

Putting a rectangular block of color behind a sketch is the ultimate cheat code: a huge improvement in the finished look for very little additional effort. It’s also a simple, repeatable ritual that tells your brain “this is finished.” #art #arttips #characterdesign

Ink and marker helmet design for a story I’m developing. The sketch shows a military sci-fi helmet design.

A main antagonist from my De Monstris story. Sword isn’t right yet, but that will be easier to iterate on digitally. Planning to add some marker color after work.

Pen and ink drawing of a character. The character wears a stylized WW1 era, Prussian uniform. He stands strong holding a large zweihander.

His left arm is covered in plate armor that has a wolf design motif.

Finished this character design for a monster hunter from the De Monstris story I’m developing.

A monster hunter character who was a Scottish fisherman in another life. He wields a stubby double barrel shotty and a large cleaver melee weapon.

We finished the first season of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End last night. Best thing I’ve watched in a while. Did this drawing of Denken while winding down after, and threw some color on it this afternoon.
