Can all the online experts and critics who have all the “answers” to everything finally make something? Make that movie. Write that book. Draw that comic. Design that game. We are all dying to know how it’s done.

When I was in elementary school, we had Kupuna come once in a while to give us lessons about Hawaiian history, and sometimes they would show Mr. Kāne’s art.

Early vis dev for Moana (2016) I think at this early stage of production, Te’Ka was able to talk to Moana. I grew up always looking at Herb Kawainui Kāne’s work, specifically his painting of Pele with lava hair. His work always stuck with me.

I was looking at the blender documentation (more user manual) and also the intel open image denoising page. I think I just have to buckle down and do more research. Thanks for replying!

A lot of the language is over my head, but what I can gather is some blender denoising options ARE ai but not generative. They sample pixels near each other to have smoother transitions. “Data sets” and “deep learning” are involved but not to generate from “latent space”.

I’ve seen a post saying “if you call denoising ai, then anti aliasing would also be ai” which makes sense. Again, just doing due diligence by asking.

I understand that blender’s denoiser is not generative ai, but I’m just looking around for possible alternatives to ML denoising or other processes. Might be a dead end, but figured I’d ask.

I also go over how to approach effective studies, reference tools I use, and I go over creating a final story moment illustration from thumbnail to finish, keeping it as flexible as possible for production needs and leadership notes.

What do I go over? Basically everything I know about how to make story moments for film. Making sense of value, color, and materials. How to think in terms of conveying a story with those elements, as well as consideration for the camera.

Also, never used this but always heard about it, Famous Artists Course. I think you can get it free as a pdf. Theres a section on folds/drapery that looks good. It’s from the 40s-60s.

She was an amazing illustrator. The art school I went to had its curriculum based around this book. She taught there for years.

Geo Nodes are super intimidating. This is just shader work (w/ displacement modifier) cobbled together from a couple YouTube videos.

thanks for asking, but no, I just keep them too myself. I’m not a modeler by trade, so these probably aren’t the best for animation anyway. Robo is 800k and terminator is about 1M

They called the figure “Endocop”. In the comics it was just an army with no name
