It was a privilege to attend today's Big Information Fair as part of Refugee Week. As a University of Sanctuary, Queen’s is committed to supporting refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant communities, working with partners to ensure those seeking safety are met with care, compassion and opportunity.

At today's Committee for the Economy meeting, the Vice-Chancellor outlined the challenges presented by the contingency budget and called for a more ambitious and coherent approach to higher education policy.

I was pleased to meet with Queen's alumna and Minister of Finance, Dr Caoimhe Archibald, today and provide her with an update on the #Belfast Region City Deal and the Centre for Public Policy and Administration. We also discussed the urgent need to fix the current #HigherEducationFunding model.
