I have ... had one of the worst days in a long time... Finally found out what's wrong with the car. $45 part + $45 tool... can't replace it without jackstands! FML Stopped at gas station to get lunner. Soda slipped and spilled into meattube sammich .

First run was 15-20, last run was 10. All in the past hour. If it kicks on again I am almost certainly going to ask them if it's absolutely necessary. I live out here on solar, a 4.8kWhr battery, and a 12v fridge. I'm sure they can do the same.

And my side hustle which has been keeping me fed (and only fed, not housed) those three years can never provide enough to feed me. But there are schools that rely on that service. I've had lows, but at this point they make Death Valley look like a mountain oasis.

#2 in a 2-person IT staff at a private university? They're offering 36k/year. Relocation would cost me more than I'd earn in the first year after taxes. (Transporting my storage unit -- my entire life -- and replacing the car would be around 20k).

Just a quick reminder -- if you have a job today consider yourself very fortunate. Nay, lucky. I've been unemployed since Sept 13, 2023. 1,042 days. The only jobs I'm getting any sort of feedback on now are those that are drastically underpaying their staff.

In their defense they have a bit of a small footprint (guestimate of 4000sqft) and even smaller warehousing space (1500 or so). So $100 + $45 in gas. Guaranteed to fit. Or $80-120 on Amazon and maybe they will fit... But probably won't. Sigh. -30-
