Survivors of narcissistic abuse are often triggered by: • Yelling, screaming, or someone raising their voice — even without malice • Sudden silence or someone going cold • Someone’s mood shifting without explanation • Feeling watched, monitored, or scrutinized Cont.

Shaming a person for responding to abuse with anger while ignoring what the abuser did to provoke them is next-level victim-blaming and gaslighting.

Never disrespect your gut instinct. You are not paranoid. Your body can pick up on bad vibrations. If something deep inside of you says something is not right about a person or situation, trust it.

Covert narcissists feel incredibly threatened by honest people with strong intuitive insight and and unwavering commitment to honesty. Being around someone who "sees" them — not the mask, but the real, insecure, manipulative self beneath — is intolerable to a covert narcissist.

Intuitive truth tellers are the biggest threat to covert and malignant #narcissists. Narcissists instinctively attack these people, aiming to smear their reputation in order to protect the false reality the narcissists depend on.

A #narcissist craves obedience and control, but they don’t actually respect those who give it to them. In their mind, if someone submits to them, it just confirms their own superiority and the other person’s inferiority. They see obedience as a sign of weakness, not loyalty or worthiness. Cont…

The malignant narcissist will tell you they’re trying to help you while they actively do things to make things harder for you. Actions speak loudest.

Narcissists feel deep contempt for genuinely good people and good-will because true kindness exposes their own lack of humanity. This resentment causes them to want to discredit genuinely good intentions and people, Cont.

The malignant narcissist family members are so terrified of allowing their own inner dysfunction to be made public that they will sacrifice one of their emotionally functional children or siblings to bury that secret. This is the scapegoat. Cont

When you’re the scapegoat of a toxic narcissistic family, you’re the one being bullied by the rest of the family, and you’re the one accused of being the bully. It’s insane.

#Narcissists don’t just give you a hard time, they sincerely want to damage your self-esteem. They want you to doubt yourself. But the covert #narcissist will earn your trust first in order to do this more effectively.

In a toxic narcissistic family, the #narcissists of the family gang up on the scapegoat and make the scapegoat out to be the problem to witnesses for a number of reasons, but ultimately it’s to cover up their own guilt for the way they abuse the scapegoat.

Narcissist parents can be overtly abusive but they can also be very subtly abusive. Without directly saying sbusive or demeaning things to their children, they can insinuate these things clearly enough with facial expressions and tone of voice.

Narcissistic abuse erodes away a person. Over the years, you can see a person lose who they are, they lose their Spark, as the stress breaks them down and they become a shadow of who they really are. It’s a slow and painful murder… death by 1000 Little cuts.

When narcissist parents scold or criticize, it’s not about guiding the child for their growth or well-being or for the child’s safety, as healthy parents would. Instead, it’s about manipulation, control, instilling shame, and feeling “superior”.

Evil people don’t look evil. Psychopaths work very hard studying and mimicking natural human behavior. Psychopaths put more effort into looking “normal” than normal people do.
