Yep. Earlier this year I was interviewed by Sharyn Alfonsi of 60 Minutes about my Epstein investigation. Subsequently, CBS pulled the segment and fired the reporter. The MAGA buyout of media is aiding the Trump administration’s Epstein cover up.

basic transparency is apparently “totally unworkable“ for the Republican majority. they will do anything to continue to cover up surveillance abuses.

The booing was fun, but I also like to remember Trump has no friends and no inner self past his suits and his scowl, so even when he attends an amazing event like this he's surrounded mostly by people who bore him and are paid to fluff his ego in meetings. It's misery for all of them, which rules.

This has been one of my favorite spots in DC going back 15 years to when I hated my group house roommates and would take refuge in the nooks along that fountain to read books in peace. Glad it's back to such beautiful condition. Long overdue.

This is based only on my working theory of politics in America in 2026, but we ought to be able to recognize that people don’t quite have the language to describe the frustration of getting by in what feels like a dying empire. It’s actively harmful to tell people they’re wrong about how they feel.

And let's not forget that the taxpayer privacy law at the center of his lawsuit is the same law his administration has violated 43,000 times by leaking taxpayer data to ICE!

From @wyden.senate.gov, who is not a fan of this idea:
“This administration is dripping with corruption from top to bottom, but rushing a settlement to steal $1.7 billion taxpayer dollars for a slush fund before a judge can toss your junk lawsuit would be among the most corrupt acts in American political history. This lawsuit has never been anything more than a shakedown of the American people by a crook president and his crook lawyers. It’s no more valid than if he had sued the White House kitchen for serving him an undercooked steak. Between this and the ballroom and a thousand other acts of corruption, Trump is a parasite on the American republic.”

This really is next-level corruption. Trump's lawsuit is based on the leak of his tax returns, which happened back in his 1st term -- a violation of a key taxpayer privacy law. Meanwhile, in term #2, his own administration has violated that same law **43,000 TIMES** Off-the-charts hypocrisy.

I sent a classified letter to House and Senate colleagues about a secret interpretation of surveillance law that every American should be concerned about. Representative Massie is right. The Constitution requires EVERY member to vote against a clean reauthorization.
A tweet from Representative Thomas Massie that reads:

I just viewed 2 Top Secret FISA docs.
1) FISA Court opinion that raises serious concerns about FBI implementation of FISA 702.
2) letter by Senator Wyden describing a secret government interpretation of FISA law.
The Constitution requires I vote No on FISA 702 reauthorization.

There's a lot more to learn here, but one takeaway is that it's crazy that Treasury is blocking investigators from looking at Epstein bank records. We've known for a while that the Trump admin is covering up for pedos and traffickers. Looks like they're covering up for drug cartels too.

This is a big reason why @wyden.senate.gov's Epstein investigation continues to follow the money. There were major financial crimes running underneath and alongside Epstein's pedophilia and trafficking. The problem is, the Trump administration is still actively hiding the paper trail.

Here’s @wyden.senate.gov on this absurd, corrupt lawsuit and Trump’s phony sense of false victimhood:
“Donald Trump is a cheat and a grifter to his core, and for him to abuse his office in an attempt to steal $10 billion from the American taxpayer is a shameless, disgusting act of corruption. While Trump is weaponizing taxpayer privacy laws for his own benefit, his Treasury Department is flouting those exact same laws to send tens of thousands of individual tax records to his anti-immigrant henchmen at ICE. It is the height of hypocrisy for Trump to pretend he cares one bit about taxpayer privacy.”

Here is Senator Wyden’s complete statement on Musk’s pay package:
The fact that anyone could pursue or approve this gluttonous level of compensation is a sign of moral rot at the highest levels of our economy. There is something deeply and shamefully broken in an economy that creates trillionaires while it buries working people under the cost of living. If there’s one thing I’m sure of, it’s that Donald Trump and Republicans won’t admit that this is an obscene problem, they’ll celebrate Musk’s wealth as a future source of campaign funds. The kind of wealth inequality on display today, as Republicans force 42 million people to go without food, is unsustainable in a democracy, and at some point there’s going to be a major realignment of policy to address it. The ultra-wealthy ought to realize that proposals like my Billionaires Income Tax, which is aimed simply at ensuring they pay a fair share, represent the moderate path forward.

The fact that people are often surprised by the Nixon administration's legislative record is a sign of how far the modern Republican party has strayed from ever really trying to fix problems and improve people's lives. In 2025, Americans are shocked that a Republican president would okay this stuff.
