My son had a dress up day for school and the theme was geology and climate. He wanted to do a tsunami. I showed him the Great Wave Off Kanagawa and he loved it. Here is ours.

Great thread on how people protect racist artifacts as “great art,” but have to reverse engineer that art’s greatness or primacy to maintain that status. Of course, that simply reveals that their dedication isn’t to the art. But it is to… White Supremacy.

Du Bois challenged numerous historiographical assumptions of the field decades before Foner. His writing speaks to his deep knowledge of history and a desire to empower Black Americans. His writings on Booker T Washington were especially helpful.

My hometown sports teams are so awful I’ve been consigned to buying gear from various minor league teams just to have stuff to wear.

I think there is an interesting moral component of these claims. I suspect that they know their position—vocally supporting Platner pre-Primary—is morally compromised, so calling those not so compromised a bot helps assuages guilt. It’s that or they struggle with a complex world. Go blocked 🤣🤣

My kids are so different. They both have oceanography week at school and can wear stuff to fit that theme. One wants a costume and the other a T-shirt with info. It’s so cool to see how they work.

I love this part so much. I knew there was a reason I followed them.

I've been contemplating a cult(ure) of abuse, and in so doing, I have reached some conclusions. The first conclusion is that when abuse is happening, the first thing is to stop the abuser from abusing, which means removing the ability to abuse—or the power to enact abuse—from the abuser. So the first solution in this situation, if we are to avoid the path of most violence, is to remove the temporary president and his party from power, using whatever levers are available, until none from that party remain in power, and then enforce the rules already in place that state that insurrectionists who wage war against the United States and try to demolish the government of the United States in order to subjugate and enslave the population of the United States are not allowed to participate in the government of the United States, and then bar all of them from government forever—this, before starting the investigations and trials and verdicts and sentences.
