I think on this one there's a large pocket of the industry that would love this regardless of who's president, it's just dumb

BTW, the course average is 65.5 today, so this is probably one of the weaker sub-60 rounds in pro golf history

I know a pretty big pocket of the golf industry wants this, but seems out of character for Rolapp to wade into this

58! Yuta Sugiura shot 12-under 58 in the third round of the Compliance Solutions Championship at The Patriot Golf Club in Oklahoma, the third event of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. It's the 3rd 58 in tour history.

Tom Kim shot 64 in the final round of the Asian Games individual tournament to win gold, and with that win, he is exempt from Korean military conscription!

It's incredible that Santelli is still on TV. Adds nothing, and his bond market knowledge is easily replaceable.

I skipped a lot of classes to play golf there. It's a good middle-of-the-road course, though it is now a little more expensive than I'd like to see

So I posted something with an intentionally ridiculous premise on Facebook and IG today, and it has done great numbers and hilariously confused hundreds of people why I posted it. This is my form of fun.

I think they found the first few holes dull and wanted to get them out of the way, or they thought the first two holes of the normal routing made great holes down the stretch

I think a takeaway from this week is that the Internationals should be selected in pairs. The Kims are special together. Find the auto qualifiers their buddy -- by country, friendship, whatever -- and give them the best chance to succeed.

Ryan Ballengee @ryan.thegolfnewsnet.com · 27/09/2026
I'm not excusing the fan behavior, but everyone knows the deal. The Internationals can still do this if they can hang on to most of the back 5.

He was just so bad in that one match that Ogilvy couldn't risk it. And then when Snedeker foolishly put out Scheffler, that was an easy sacrifice

Yeah, we talked about it on site. There was confusion about how the Tour would handle it, but I figured they would make the whole bunker in bounds to avoid controversy

The OB fence along the 3rd is great because they stop it to accommodate a greenside bunker that itself is in bounds

Ryan Ballengee @ryan.thegolfnewsnet.com · 26/09/2026
I don't know if they've talked about the routing, but it's basically -4 or +4 from what the day-to-day routing is. So 1 is 5, 2 is 6, etc. Then 12 is 16, 13 is 17, 14 is 18 and 15 is 1.

Ryan Ballengee @ryan.thegolfnewsnet.com · 26/09/2026
I love the OB fence, but the 1st hole is a pretty simple layup and then a longer iron, which isn't as fun of a match-play hole. The landing area on 2 fairway is just too big, but otherwise it's good. 3 is fantastic, and then tour de force.

Ryan Ballengee @ryan.thegolfnewsnet.com · 26/09/2026
It is also hilarious to watch the Americans flail about hitting mid and long irons. They're killer pitch-n-putt players but stink at the long par 3s.
