But most breads don't get boiled, but I suppose you're correct in that sense!

By this logic, pasta is closer to Montreal-style bagels than any bread

WELL NOW, would you look at that? A massive, 26-YEAR-LONG study of MORE THAN 2.4 MILLION people in Sweden found NO EVIDENCE to support a causal link between acetaminophen (the API in Tylenol) use during pregnancy and increased risk of autism, ADHD, OR intellectual disability in children.

Oooh! Same, especially on the latter. It's fun seeing friends open up and getting to see how happy it makes them makes it so much more easy to get into that flavour 🫠

And for the comment of paying staff -- the culture and vibes around both the con itself and for being on staff is a HUGE one. It becomes corporate and I for one, do not welcome it at all. It's very privileged and there is opportunity for resentment and powerplay.

And being on both FE and Feral at one point almost killed me in my joy for cons. I'm slowly recovering, but I feel like because it's all volunteer -- especially if your day job either a) is unfulfilling and b) doesn't pay enough, it sucks.

And even though Feral isn't as big as FE or FWA or AC, the sentiment of burning out and demand that comes from getting bigger is that burnout is burnout at the end of the day. And you can't quit either or else it'll create more stress and work for others when everyone else has a lot on their plates

Even though we weren't on the same staff, I still feel very much this. I'm weary of other cons because of my burnout from Feral in my first few years, and the burnout continued when I staffed Furnal Equinox.

I've been thinking since I stepped down from FWA leadership about how much furry conventions have grown, and how much we now ask of the volunteers who keep them running. I decided to put those thoughts into words, and I'd appreciate it if you'd give them a read: gomi.gay/blog/26-09-0...
