There comes a moment you understand how a #coal #power plant can also directly reduce the performance of your #PV system. #energy

The sun hidden by the exhaust of a coal power plant in an otherwise mostly clear sky.

It isn’t silent when you’re right next to the tourists. But still #SilentSunday 200 meters up. A viewpoint along a 2,5 hour walk encountering nobody, in an area with a bazillion tourists. #moselle #cochem #mosel #moezel

View of the “cochem” curve in the Mosel river from almost 200 m up.

Someone was flying a lighted #kite over the beach after the #eclipse. When I took a video, A #perseid meteor took the stage mid-time.

Bank, gemeente, waterschap, CAK, #belastingdienst, pensioen, … Maar dat kan hij niet […] [Original post on mastodon.social]

[Original post on mastodon.social]

@DemocracyMattersALot Another consideration: “Gulf of America” is only /very/ wrong if you consider that the USA is America, ignoring all other countries on the continent. Which we don’t?

This is funny. #microsoft version of Google’s #Takeout requires clicking and scrolling through menus left and right, and then takes up to 30 days “compliant with GDPR”…. How can we make it as difficult as possible within the limits of the law?

We've long had abbreviations that are longer than what they're trying to abbreviate, for instance "World Wide Web" being abbreviated to "double-you-double-you-double-you". Now MS Teams is doing quite a comparable effort with URLs that are longer than the content of the documents they refer to.

Extremely long URL, probably 1500 "random" characters.

"Tropical" weather in our corner of the country changes to "warm" weather in 15 minutes.

Day becomes warmer and warmer, but just before 17:00 the temperature starts dropping about 5 C in 15 minutes, the dewpont jumps up by a similar amount, the wind ticks up a little and turns 90 degrees.
