Why has the name of one person replaced the name of the country? What part of the governing system allowed it to become normal?

Sorry, I meant "by stacking synchronic slices"

So well put imo. I recall in school a teacher saying "The Roman empire lay lightly over France." The implication was that life was going on "beneath." Always the case, no? Building the story of a place by stacking diachronic slices has little to do with king lists and sweeping diachronic views?

Pres. Zelensky referred to problem below in a recent speech. How can it and other support for Russia be reversed? When the big invasion began, a report said China preferred doing business with Ukraine over Russia and wouldn't want to find itself siding with Russia? www.dw.com/en/how-russi...

Today in Ukraine is it safer tragically to be in the military / to be where the military is than to be a civilian? Reports a month ago said the Russian economy would soon be unable to go on paying for the attack on Ukraine, no? Did the higher oil price thanks to the attack on Iran change things?

Don't they have fun. Whoever wrote what you cite is a master of ambiguity, no? Could mean "If I do something claiming to love my country as I do it, it's lawful," rather than, "If I love my country, I will honor its laws."

yes Guns as apparel A norm set long ago of designating advances elsewhere as threats justifying semi-war ("cold war"), which in turn "rationalizes" higher military spending than peace would justify Talking "national security" (diffuse definition) instead of talking defense (clearer definition)

Incredible: another Ukrainian famine is unfolding, this time in Russian-occupied Oleshky. The remaining inhabitants of what used to be a thriving small city, now down to about 6000 people, are blockaded by Russian forces and cut off from food and water. www.bbc.com/news/article...
